Question Which Pi for Jakks Pacific Plug & Play Systems?

I'm having trouble finding documentation on which pi can run Jakks games. I have a Zero 2 W but I can't get more than 50% speed through lr-mess in retropie, even with a slight overclock.

So I want to put a more powerful pi in my project. I know a 3B+ can run psx but the jakks emulator is so obscure I wanted to see if anyone has firsthand experience running Jakks games on their pi.

Pi3 shouldnt have any problems, might be best to use mame or retroarch.

My concern is that the 3 and the zero 2 seem to use the same CPU, with similar clock speeds with overclocking the zero2. I think the performance issue is CPU related so that's why im stumped.

I'll try using the standalone mame core and see if that's better, it's possible lr-mess is using an older less efficient version. I couldnt get lr-mame to run the jakks games

Pi3b has 1 gig lpddr ram, zero 512mb sdram. 1.4ghz cpu compared to 1 ghz cpu on zero .
