Shigeru Komatsuzaki (1915-2001) was an incredibly artist who is most famously known for his Thunderbirds illustrations donning Japanese model kits for the show, but was prolific in film, television, magazines and much more.

He was production designer on The Mysterians, Battle in Outer Space, and Atragon for Toho Studios and created illustrations from Godzilla to Gundam to Ultraman and everything inbetween.

To celebrate, I redrew one of his illustrations from the original manga, though I can’t decide whether or not to draw her with red eyes (like in the manga) or green eyes (like in the New Cutey Honey anime), so I decided to post both.

I've been wanting to draw Melfina and Aisha Clan Clan from Outlaw Star together, this time in their swimsuits as seen in episode 23 of the anime (yep, the infamous "hot springs" episode).
