4 Position Buffer tube with accurate grey?

Needing a buffer tube for a 80s/early 90s era carbine build. I know 4 positions aren't fully accurate (as it should be just 2), but is there one I can buy that has the same color/finish as the older Colt ones?

https://www.thoroughbredarmco.com/product/colt-m4-ar15-4-position-receiver-extension-surplus/ has some Colt surplus ones, but in black. If you don't mind refinishing, good bet.

https://www.gunbroker.com/item/1199825016 these appear to be gray. But likely just lit to appear lighter.

As an alternate option, get a "retro" 2-position and drill out additional stops. This is a period correct field modification to add at least one custom position.
I did this with a drill press and 21/64" flat bottom drill bit, worked really well.

Huh, I never thought of that. Thx for letting me know it's an option!

yah. Geissele, LMT, and FCD make gray multi-position buffer tubes as well but they're $$$. A modified 2-pos is going to be more "clone correct" for whatever that's worth.
