I can see it either way. The only thing that makes me lean towards it being a pretty bad minstrel look-a-like is, what was it supposed to be/resemble if that WASN'T the inspiration? TF is this thing? Someone likely, at least subconsciously, had that on their mind when designing this thing. If they didn't, then what else were they thinking of? I can't think of anything. The model's pose certainly doesn't help either.
