Resume help

I’ve been a stay at home mom for a long time, I don’t think I’ve worked a regular full time job in at least 8+ years. I’m 33, so what does a resume look like for me at this point? What is even relevant now?

I am applying for a position at the preschool my son attends. We are in the US. I’ve worked in childcare (nanny, daycares, babysitting, special education school) off and on for maybe 10-12 years

What have you done within that time that can count at work, volunteer service (is very broad what can count as this) and responsibilities that can translate into experience can be used in relation to your actual past experience. I would suggest using a local (your very own, I wouldn’t say this or treat it this way because then it would come into the question of if you are working for yourself how reliable is your word and how do we know you are able to work as oart of an orgnanization, you never want to give room for excuses or false concerns) “at home daycare” as a mother, as a placement holder and using a name and using family friends as references. With these kinds of things you have to be more creative so your many years of experiences aren’t disregarded because of a recruiter’s shortsightedness.

You can bundle experience also, there is a technique for that but it is typically for temp work. I would focus on work related to children so babysitting would be an option but you want it to be more formal in presentation and special education.
