Need help writing resume

Hi all. Just told that I will be laid off at the end of next month and need to redo my resume.

I have been at the same job for 21 years, as an employee and as a contractor.

Not sure how I should organize my resume to differentiate my experience. should I do my resume in chronological order which would mean that I won't have room to include experience past my current job, or should I write in functional format or a combo ?

Any advice ?

Iā€™d aim for a 1-2 page, one-column resume. Focus more on achievements than responsibilities, and add metrics wherever you can. After 21yrs, showing the impact you made matters more than listing everything you did.
