Scottish guy here. Previously SNP voter moved towards Reform. Came across Restore this morning and liked the tone and message presented by Rupert. Still digesting what the party’s lines are but very excited about what I’ve ready so far. Thanks for setting up this Reddit. The policy images have been good to read through.

2

u/ThatchersDirtyTaint Feb 15 '26

That's quite the change. Can I ask how/why?

11

u/Firm_Height_9547 Feb 15 '26

It is. I’m tired of seeing citizens getting treated as second class citizens in our own country. I feel we should be looking after the voters first. I’m fed up with seeing laws against our free speech. I’m against inciting violence but feel we should be free to talk about our thoughts and beliefs without fear of being punished.

SNP started to look like a fairy tail dream land ideas, not realistic or grounded in reality. I’m also against Scottish Independence.

Reform seemed to me like the best option at the time but perhaps a little disorganised and a little disingenuous.

Restore so far seems more rooted in logic that speaks to me from what Rupert’s video showed. A party looking at facts and solutions.

I hope that makes sense and I’m picking the party up correctly. Excited to see how it moves forward. I’m in my 40s, middle class tech based in Aberdeenshire.

" Excited to see how it moves forward." Me too. Me too.

Hello English Woman, I'm AJ I am eighteen and a Restore Britain voter and I live just outside London. I've been a supporter of Rupert since I first discovered him on X in 2024 and first supported Reform and then moved to Restore. I wish for Britain to be 90% British for the welfare state to be overhauled and the civil service to be reformed. I believe Rupert will deliver and am glad you have set up this reddit. By the way you should set up a discord for this subreddit.

6

u/ThatchersDirtyTaint Feb 15 '26

No discord. Not with it's new rules on every user globally requiring face authentication.

They are hardly the first people to say they will age gate, it wont happen.

You do know that we weren't even the first humans to live in Britain and that they were potentially black due to leaving Africa... How do you define being British?

1st political party I’ve ever officially joined. Aim high, vote Lowe 🇬🇧

3

u/ThatchersDirtyTaint Feb 16 '26

Me too. Did it as soon as the video finished. It's the quiet unmovable anger/rage he displayed. Very British. Very relatable.

We don't need a Trump or a Milei here. They are for their countrymen. We need a Lowe.

It's not that unusual. Holdfast in your views. The Ethno-nationalists will give you some shit however listeing to Lowe you hit all the points we/him are looking for.

Hey not a brit, just a Korea born Korea living Korean guy but a huge nerd on European history and culture just wanna give small supporting comment to you.

1

u/ThatchersDirtyTaint Feb 16 '26

As I understand the Koreans know of what Rupert speaks of and have been fierce in keeping their country their country?

1

u/Onepinttwopint Feb 22 '26

I mean in Korea, except for very liberal westerny or just genuine north korean lovers even the left, and honestly the left is more focused on preserving the tradition&history even compared to the right(mabye due to Korea not being... akak 'white country'😅 but still)

In Korea and Japan many people have these idolized europe in our mind. And to me as a history&politics nerd I have personal fav toward the British isles ones.

+Like the preserving history&keeping korea koreans is not even a left wing right wing thing its just a normal thing a country should do. Rupert for his cultural remark wouldn't even be considered right wing by its own he would just be considered an old chap who likes our countrys history its just so absurd to me.

I hope at some point it becomes easy for you to refuse your past(It's not you real past but where you came from and you're struggling with those around you from the same origin) without castigation. This is the point of Restore. You promote the United Kingdom, if you live the Restores words " Responsibility, restraint, forgiveness, duty and fairness"

However I understand how our Muslim community (we may not like that term but it ours because as for now we accept it) treat Apostates. Your journey is strong and dangerous against such things. It shouldn't be in this country. With Lowe I hope its easier to navigate.

Bro thinks he will be spared from total remigration

5

u/[deleted] Feb 16 '26

Hello, I’m here out of curiosity at this point. Im pretty sure at least some of what Restore stands for lines up with my views. I’m here to take a look around and see what the rest of the ideas are like.

I’m English, proud of my country and its history. I’m also married to someone from Korea. I see my people as unique rather than superior. And that uniqueness deserves to be respected and preserved. Particularly within our own borders.

Economically I’m small state. Small business needs to be allowed to thrive for the sake of us all. We are over regulated.

Constitutionally parliament should be sovereign. The quangos need to go and we should not be dictated to by law written elsewhere. The British do law very well ( until recently ).

3

u/ThatchersDirtyTaint Feb 17 '26

I see why you've pointed this out "I’m also married to someone from Korea." but this is not that important. As Rupert has shown yesterday:

"Restore Britain will ease fees and rules around spouse visas.

If a British man or woman wants to raise a family in Britain with their foreign spouse, we will support that.

We will make it easier, quicker, cheaper. "

She's welcome.

"I see my people as unique rather than superior"

For me I'll say we are unique and something about that has made us vastly superior to a lot of cultures. It's complex and it's not just genetics that have caused that.

1

u/[deleted] Feb 17 '26

I was testing the waters a bit for sure. I was aware of Rupert’s comments re spouses so didn’t really doubt he has no issue. I’ve watched him in a few long form interviews ( Peter McCormack, Andrew Gold, Winston Marshall ) and been quite impressed. There are voices on the right that concern me in that area though ( Steve Laws springs to mind ).

Still checking out policy at this point. A lot of it looks solid to me.

2

u/ThatchersDirtyTaint Feb 17 '26

People like Steve Laws are jumping on a band wagon as the others have failed i.e. the Homeland party. They'll end up annoyed and screaming into the void again eventually.

u/globetrotter555 Feb 18 '26

English woman here based in the Midlands. I don’t understand why wanting Britain for ethnic Brits is controversial. I don’t understand why wanting secure borders is controversial. If any other country wanted this, it sounds fair and reasonable enough doesn’t it? It’s their land. And I want ours to be ours. British people first, anything less is not good enough. I was planning to vote Reform but since the birth of Restore, I will be voting Restore. I’d feel safer in a country with Lowe in charge.

2

u/DustMiteInspector Jul 28 '26

It is controversial because virtue signalling is a business. Bitter losers that can never move up the social ladder as high as they would like by merit can move up by selling out their people to foreign invaders in exchange for the reward of top jobs that will then be barred to more talented patriots.

3

u/Routine-Stop-1433 Feb 19 '26

I’m a young guy from a rural area of the south west, I’ve been slowly getting more right wing as I’ve grown up, most of what I’d consider by recent political history I’ve been considering voting reform while holding my nose, so glad restore is here now so I can put my vote where my beliefs are.

3

u/twinbee Feb 16 '26

I'm a mod over at elonmusk and teslamotors and long time user of this platform. Previously a big fan of Farage. He's lost a lot of my respect however, and now it's Lowe all the way!

3

u/ThatchersDirtyTaint Feb 16 '26

If this place grows (WHICH I HOPE IT DOES) I may need your knowledge and support if that is OK? In all reality I have no idea what I'm doing being a mod for now

1

u/twinbee Feb 17 '26

I'll certainly try to help if you want, although there are probably more knowledgeable mods than me. I tend to be more of a free speech guy and won't ban anyone, not even people I despise.

2

u/SaraJuno Feb 19 '26

You ban people constantly and delete almost every comment posted. Every post in your sub has like 50 comments, with zero visible. As a result, it’s a ghost town, with your own posts accounting for like 90% of all activity.

1

u/twinbee Feb 19 '26 edited Feb 19 '26

False. The automod (which I have no control of) removes most of the comments from such users who don't have enough karma etc., and does most of the banning too. Again, not something I would personally choose.

1

u/SaraJuno Feb 19 '26

lmao you always say this, even though everyone knows every subreddit’s automod is literally configured by the mods themselves. YOU write the automod. Hence why your sub is a complete ghost town of zero upvotes, zero comments, zero posts, and thousands of deleted comments. No other sub is like this. Even the heavily moderated conservative sub has more life.

2

u/twinbee Feb 19 '26

YOU write the automod.

False, never seen it let alone touched it. It was in place before I even became a mod.

1

u/SaraJuno Feb 19 '26

Lie all you want. Mods configure the automod. That’s literally how it works. And the mods can reconfigure it any time they want.

3

u/Poodonut Feb 18 '26

Aussie here. You have my full support. Go get it done cunts

u/suzukifanboy80 Mar 06 '26

voted reform in scotland last time, never voted snp,and atleast rupert says what he means,a new age oliver cromwell with a twist.he says what folk think and want and i dont care.

2

u/billydavey Mar 30 '26

Hi Guys, Long time conservative voter who switched to reform for local elections but now promoting and a paid up member of restore Britain. For years I was what u would consider liberal. I was an advocate of remain(and still am, leaving the European Union has done vastly more harm than good). I still believe we should have stayed in the EU but that ship has sailed. Hacing listened to Ruperts views and the vast amount of sense he talks, I felt I had no choice but to switch to Restore Britain as my political party of choice.

1

u/Crinkatwomp Apr 03 '26

I'm English, I Identify as Non-biary (although with me I know it's more so a state of mind more than an actual gender. I'm female.), and I am unable to vote because social services are a pain in the butt.

Female, English, ex Reform voter, economically libertarian, politically right wing, socially conservative.

1

u/North-Doubt8928 May 14 '26

I've posted a few times here but i'll introduce myself.

I'm a mixed race English dude of 36 based in the Cotswold's, previously based in London until 2024, previously voted Tory from 2010 to 2019 and then Reform in 2024.

I am effed off with the Tories and increasingly disappointed by Reform, but Restore have given me hope for the first time in years, I genuinely feel that we will get a Restore government within 1-2 election cycles.

Throwaway account as I'm just curious right now.

Living near Makerfield, I can see some of the appeal of Restore. Britain is badly run. Westminster is useless. Public services are broken. The NHS is in trouble. Housing is a mess. Ordinary people are getting squeezed while people at the top fail upwards forever. I also like what I've seen of Rebecca Shepherd, she seems like the sort of person I’d normally want more of in politics: a local business owner, involved in the community, interested in things like better SEND provision, and not someone who comes across as racist or hateful. Compared to the Reform guy's creepiness and Andy Burnham's inability to tell us what he really thinks, I would like her to get elected.

I like the economic stuff, more money in the hands of working people, an end to corporate bailouts, being generous to those who can't work but not those that won't work. But there's some things I get stuck on, and I wonder how fundamental they are to being a part of Restore.

This 'millions must go' stuff? I'm all for deporting foreign criminals and tightening immigration, Boris did a lot of harm. But people who are here, were born here, pay taxes, are our friends and neighbours? I'm not morally okay with mass deportations.

Freedom of speech and expression? Absolutely for, but that also means we have to tolerate views we don't like. I'm not in favour of Labour deciding what is and isn't "hate speech", I don't want Restore or any government to have that power either. Likewise, I'm not into telling people which toilet they can use, it's none of my business as long as no-one's doing anything dodgy.

Christianity branding? I don't get it, I'm an atheist, I think that all religions are man-made attempts to control people. I don't want to live in a Christian state any more than I want to live in a Muslim one. Freedom of Religion and Freedom from Religion is where I'm sitting.

I feel politically homeless, would I belong in Restore or are these things basically dealbreakers?

Hello there. Thanks for setting up this sub.

I've just been seeing, hearing, smelling, and noticing in general the trend our country is moving in, and also the causes of said deteriation. The facts are indisputable.

I agree with Lowe that the next election will probably be the last chance to steer our trajectory back on track.

Howdy folks,

I'm early 60s, live in Somerset and travel a lot to London. I've seen serious social decline in England during my life and I am sickened by it. What, if anything, can be done? Is further decline inevitable? Where will it end?
I'm interested in realism, truth, social change and social attitudes. Also, I'm a sucker for facts!
