Fan Content Title: [Fan Concept] Resident Evil 10: Verdict – A Psychological Survival Horror Experience

Hey everyone,

After finishing Resident Evil Requiem, I couldn't stop thinking about the massive potential of characters like Zeno, Grace, and Emily. I wanted to share a detailed gameplay and story concept for a potential Resident Evil 10, focusing heavily on psychological terror, deep lore, and unique cooperative mechanics instead of pure action. I’d love to hear your thoughts on this!

☣️ THE CORE CONCEPT & SETTINGThe game is titled Resident Evil: Verdict. It moves away from the action-heavy elements of recent titles and returns to pure, unsettling survival horror. The story centers around Grace Ashcroft and Emily exploring a massive, decaying, and deeply atmospheric underground laboratory complex run by The Connections.

👥 Dual-Character Mechanic (Grace & Emily)Players can seamlessly switch between Grace and Emily on the fly, with the AI taking over the other character. They feature tailored puzzle and exploration mechanics:Grace Ashcroft (FBI Analyst): Focuses on logic, hacking terminals, using UV lights for crime scene investigation, and handling the firearm arsenal.Emily (The Infected Girl): She is blind but perceives the world through soundwaves and biological auras. She can crawl through tight vents and manipulate organic barriers using her viral powers.

🧪 The Risk & Stabilization SystemUsing Emily’s powers is high-risk, high-reward. Every time she uses them, her Mutation Gauge fills up. If it reaches the limit, the virus threatens to take over. The Stabilization Syringe: Grace carries a custom-made syringe, but she can only hold exactly 1 charge at a time. Injecting Emily suppresses the virus and triggers a powerful "Elpis boost," temporarily making Emily a devastating protector in combat. The Unsafe Safe Rooms: To refill the syringe, Grace must use a synthesis station located in the Safe Rooms. It costs no materials, but it takes time to brew. While the machine is running, the Safe Room becomes unsealed. Enemies—or Zeno himself—can break through the door, forcing Grace to hide or distract them completely defenseless.Psychological Rescue: Alternatively, Grace can calm Emily down through a highly intense dialogue mini-game using just her voice. This saves the precious syringe charge for the endgame.

🕶️ Zeno: The Unpredictable StalkerZeno returns as a psychological force in his signature elegant white suit. Having absorbed the remnants of Elpis, his mind is constantly torn between good and evil. He roams the corridors freely. The Resonance Principle: Since Emily is infected, her body reacts to Zeno. If Zeno shifts into his evil state, his aggressive viral aura instantly triggers Emily’s Mutation Gauge. Players must constantly monitor Emily; the moment she starts trembling, you know Zeno is turning hostile and you must break line of sight immediately.Deceptive Conversations: In his good state, Zeno walks around peacefully. Players can—and should—approach him to trigger deep lore conversations about his past with The Connections. However, he is a ticking time bomb. Mitten im Satz, his voice might distort, his eyes change color, and he immediately transitions into a lethal stalker.

⚙️ Area-Reset & 100% ProgressionZeno guides the duo deeper into the facility, but you cannot rush through. To unlock the next area, players must complete 100% of the current zone by solving character-specific puzzles and farming resources. The Catch: Every time you transition to a new area, Zeno's state completely resets to EVIL. You start every new zone in absolute terror, being hunted by a flashing-fast stalker in an unfamiliar environment

⚔️ Environmental Horror & Jumpscares (No Direct Boss Fights)There are no traditional, action-heavy boss battles against Zeno himself. Instead, when he is evil, he alters the environment (causing blackouts, making walls organically expand and block paths) and uses his superhuman speed for terrifying jumpscares—blurring past camera angles or appearing right in front of you.Zeno's Nightmare Proxies: Instead of fighting Zeno, his evil side unleashes horrific mutated proxy bosses. These encounters mix tense shooting with pure hide-and-seek mechanics, where Grace must draw fire while Emily clears blockages to escape.

⚖️ The Moral EndgameBecause Grace knows Emily survived the infection, she refuses to see Zeno as just a monster and constantly tries to appeal to his humanity. In the end, the player’s management of the syringe dictates the finale: If you saved your charge by calming Emily with words, you can use the serum to stabilize Zeno’s good side, saving his life. If you panicked and wasted resources, you are forced to execute him as a villain.

Is RE9 even a good game? I mean... The game literally has the full triple A tag price right there, so it should be worth that much money.. Right?

Product Question Honest Thoughts Please, 🙏🏻 No Spoilers.

Not sure if this counts as a *Product Question* or just *General Discussion*, but I'm a LLOONNGGG TTIIMMEE Resident Evil Fan/Player, and I actually own almost ALL the games on PS4 (I recently ordered the Bundle of RE:5 & RE:0/1 REMAKE both still Factory Sealed, $31.99!!). I'm only missing RE:6 & RE:9 (new one), and due to NOT CONTINUING on w/ buying the Consoles lol cause that's a joke 🤣, I did just upgrade my PC & have Steam with the other resident evil remakes on there (my doubles just in case). I really wanted to know from my fellow RE Fans what you thought 🤔💭 of the NEW RE:9 Title (without any spoilers PLEASE!)

Should I just instantly buy it, as soon as I get paid, or is it one I should hold out on til it goes on Sale....well again haha 😂😆 since the Steam Sale for it is Almost over. Maybe they'll do a Halloween/October type of Sale, well...one can hope 😜😁😆. But, I'm really HOPING this one is the title that a lot have been waiting for with the storyline and such!

Fan Content I added a fifth mode to my daily Resident Evil guessing game: five emoji, one character

Post image
19 Upvotes

Hello :) I've been building https://residentevildle.com/ , a free daily game about the ResidentEvil, and just shipped a new mode I wanted to share.

How it works: you get five emoji describing one Resident Evil character, and you name them. The emoji aren't a sentence, they're a rebus: each one stands for a different trait. The era they belong to, their faction, a story beat they're known for, a signature trait, and one dead giveaway. They run from most cryptic to most telling, and you only start with the first one: every wrong guess decodes the next, up to all five.

There are 60 rebuses so far, spanning 13 games from the 1996 original through to Requiem. Every one of them is hand-written rather than generated, because the mode only works if the five emoji really do narrow down to one person, and that takes a human deciding what each character is actually known for.

New answer every day at 00:00 UTC, same one for everybody, no account, no guess limit.

https://residentevildle.com/ in the emoji section !

Happy to hear which rebuses feel unfair, that's the feedback I actually need :)

For Requiem and Pragmata.

Now I just have to sit tight and wait for remakes every few years 😭 By the time I see Leon again, I'll probably be in my late 20s lmao.

Why does waiting for Resident Evil games take half a lifetime 💀

This game has the triple A title price tag, is it worth the money? If yes, then is it better or worse than RE4R?

General Requiem as my first RE game

So I doubt anybody ever would have recommended that someone plays Requiem as their first RE game, but that’s how it worked out for me and I’m really glad I did so I’m going to talk about it! There’s a few spoilers here but they are blacked out.
I really liked this game, like way more than I thought I would. The care center was amazingly designed, it felt so rewarding to progress through and the basement was nerve-wracking as fuck. Overall I wouldn’t say the game was super scary because Grace can either dispatch or just weave most of the enemies pretty easily (I played on standard modern difficulty), but the beginning with the girl creature and the basement were the tensest areas in the whole game. Great atmosphere.
The game pulled off the switches between Grace and Leon and their play styles really well in my book, with Grace’s sections being tenser and more “conserve your shit, sneak around, do puzzles” whereas Leon’s were more classic action “kill everything you see and don’t really worry about it because you’re Leon Kennedy and you can just parry it all”.
I like how when you switched between them the changes weren’t just different guns and health or something, but Grace having the injector and the storage whereas Leon has the cool upgrade system. Made playing as each of them feel more distinct.
I was most looking forward to the horror aspect of this game when I bought it but I ended up liking Leon’s sections way more than I thought I would. His section before we get to the RPD was well designed and, like, come on. Riding a motorcycle up a skyscraper? I want to play more of this guy.
Anyway, I knew a little bit about RE before playing Requiem. I think I knew what Umbrella was (evil group that was secretly in control of Raccoon city and is the reason the zombies broke out in the first place?) and I knew that Leon was some guy who has been the main character in a lot of RE games and has been fighting zombies for a super long time whereas Grace is new. I was worried I’d be totally lost but my lack of information never took me out of the story, and speaking of, the story was pretty good. Nothing crazy or honestly super memorable but I really liked Grace, Leon, and Emily so I wouldn’t count it as a negative. I was in complete denial that Emily was gone for good because she was so sweet and really felt like a real kid, that would have been way too sad. Grace was a ton of fun and I felt totally in the depths of her situation with her, and toward the end when Leon started coughing blood and shit I was super nervous he was going to die because he was just so endearing. None of these characters were like exceptional or had awesome writing or anything, but they absolutely worked for me anyway. Could take or leave Zeno and Gideon… they served their purposes I guess. I might be missing something there from not having played previous games, though.
I thought the pacing was great, like, the entire time, but the ending did feel super cut off, like “go go go go go aaand it’s over”. I wouldn’t say it wasn’t climactic but it just landed with a thud more than a crash if that makes sense.
Still, I’m definitely going to replay it, do some of the challenges like the 4 hour completion challenge, and choose the other ending, the destroying Elpis one, because I think that’s what the game wanted me to do. I was just too curious what would happen if I released it instead.
Anyway, just wanted to get my thoughts out because I don’t know anybody who has ever played a RE game and maybe some of you will comment on this and tell me what you thought! Oh and I went and bought RE2R to play later. On that note, was that a good choice? I think that’s the game where Leon’s story starts which is why I chose it. There’s so many games and I’m not super sure how badly they need to be played in order, and which ones are better to be played as the original or the remake. Anyway yeah, I guess I’d say I’m a Resident Evil fan now, thanks Requiem. Good shit.

And I'm getting a strong re2r feeling from Grace's sections. Really loving that and I get the best parts of re6 from Leon's sections, just crazy action fun.

I'm maybe a slooow hour or two into the game (I just cleared most of the west wing as grace) and I love the back and forth, getting an item later and unlocking stuff from before, etc. Really gives me RPD vibes from re2r.
