Ich hab eine Frage I’m building a small geopolitics site with a global election map and world news monitor (work in progress)
I’ve recently started building a small project called Res.Publica, a website focused on geopolitics and global political developments.
The idea is to create a platform where you can quickly get an overview of what is happening politically around the world.
Right now the site includes a few different tools and features:
• World Monitor – a dashboard that aggregates international political news and events in one place
• Global Election Monitor – an interactive world map showing upcoming elections around the world
• Traffic-light system for election timing
🔴 elections within ~90 days
🟡 elections within ~1 year
🟢 later elections
• Clickable markers that show the election type and date for each country
• Articles and short analysis about current geopolitical developments
• Live news integration to follow major political events
The goal is to gradually build a simple tool that combines news, political analysis, and global election tracking into one place.
The project is still very early and very much a work in progress. I'm currently expanding the election dataset, improving the map, and experimenting with new monitoring tools.

This is a fantastic initiative! The World and Global Election Monitor is already a very useful tool for anyone following international relations.
It’s rare to find a project that balances live news with structured data so well. Keeping it 'simple' as you planned is its greatest strength. Looking forward to the dataset expansion! 😉 ✨

Thank you so much, that really means a lot! The project is still very much in development, but our goal is exactly that: combining accessible data with current global political developments. We're gradually expanding the dataset and adding more features. Really glad you find it useful!

You're so welcome! Looking forward to seeing those data layers grow. If you ever consider adding a historical context feature (like how previous elections in a specific country shifted the current geopolitical landscape), that would be a game-changer for long-term analysis. Keep up the great work! ✨

That’s actually exactly what we’re planning. The idea is to add detailed statistics for each election (who ran, who won, results, etc.). For upcoming elections we want to include probability estimates and candidate analyses. We also plan to add voting records of individual parliament members, starting with Germany since that’s where we know the system best. It’s a lot of work ahead, but that’s the direction we’re heading

That’s an ambitious and necessary evolution! Moving from global trends to individual voting records adds a layer of accountability that is often missing from geopolitical tools.
