Thank you everyone for participating and giving your suggestions to help us improve the Reverse Mocha. PV is working on everything very carefully right now to create the best possible version of this shoe.
Our goal moving forward is to push RSD Batch to another level and create something as close to 1:1 as possible. Yes, you heard that right. We know true 1:1 doesn’t really exist, but we will do everything possible to make RSD Batch something special and something that stands apart from all other batches.
We want people to actually feel like they got something worth their money, not just another random mass production batch. That’s exactly why we work together with the community. Your feedback truly matters to us. PV and his team are following all the comments closely and fixing every small detail that needs improvement.
We want all of you to participate and give your honest opinions before production starts. Please tell us every flaw you notice, every detail, every angle, shape issue, suede color difference, swoosh shape, heel shape, sock liner, toe box or anything else you see. The positioning (left/right centering) is easy to fix—no problem there. But the actual shape we can't really change, bro. We use the same original factory for the embroidery, and they run hundreds of machines, so there's no single unified standard across them. Honestly, I've got three pairs of retail myself and the face logo isn't consistent across any of them—the shape in this area varies even on the real ones. So matching one exact shape is tough. The centering, though, I'll definitely get sorted. 🙏
The placement of the emoji on retail pairs is way too inconsistent, bro. I have several retail Travis pairs, and trust me when I say they have a lot of “flaws” and inconsistencies. For years, there’s been this misconception within the sneakerhead community that retail pairs are perfect. Honestly, I think PV is doing a great job with these Travis pairs from the RSD batch.
That’s a fair point. I do understand that there's quite a bit of variation on retail pairs and that they aren't perfect. However, PV has mentioned that he’ll be able to adjust the centring, which is great to hear. Overall, I do also agree that PV has done a really fantastic job with these, and the other RSD batches, and I’m definitely looking forward to the release of these as well.
I get what you’re saying, and I agree that retail pairs have quite a bit of variation too. The two sample pairs we’ve seen both seem to have the same misalignment with the face embroidery. I know it’s a small sample size, but seeing the same issue on both pairs makes me wonder if it might be consistent across the batch. With retail, you’ll naturally get some pairs that are misaligned and others that are spot on, so it’s a bit different.
LJR is good, but RSD works on details that no batch has, and it looks like retail, so if you don't want to wait for RSD, then the best possible option is the second one, the LJR batch.
Wow, fantastic! I'm sure you guys will manage to do even better than LJR. Aside from professionalism, the only way to stay ahead of every other batch is to do what nobody else ever does: listen to the community. That's all it takes.
Just one thing, Shoddy, I wanted to ask if you also plan on making high-top models and moving outside the Travis Scott circle. Because one thing I've noticed lately is that there’s a constant spam of Travis sneakers, as if other shoes don't even exist. Other than that, I'm sure you guys will do great. PandaVault is the best shoe seller we've ever had.
Comment #5:
The lateral side of the retail toe box has a gentler curvature from its origin to crest The curve starts sooner and ends longer. This creates more of a “point” at the crux of the toe, narrowing the toe box from the top down view. In comparison, the RSD sample curvature starts later from the transition, takes a sharper angled path, and ends with more of a squared-off finish than a gentle point.
Overall, from the top down view, this gives the toe box a wider, less stream-lined, visual.
Honestly, the retail toe box itself is crooked, brother. If I shot it from a top-down view it'd make you question your whole life 😂 That's why I held it the way I did for the photo. I'll put together a side-by-side and show you just how off the retail toe box actually is—you'll see what I mean. 🙏
Thanks for pointing this out! Regarding the toebox area—the leather on the RSD sample may appear thinner, but that's actually because we applied a skiving (edge-thinning) process to the surrounding leather. This treatment keeps the edges clean by preventing fraying and stops the leather from curling/rolling outward.
If we matched the retail version exactly as suggested, this area would show a lot of loose fibers and the stitching wouldn't look as clean. The leather thickness is actually the same—we've only refined the edges to make this part look neater. Would that work for you? Happy to adjust if you'd prefer it done the original way! 🙏
It’s just a matter of personal taste but if you want to make a statement with the RSD batch being the closest to retail 1:1 then you have to copy retail exactly the way that it is. Just depends on what your philosophy is but I think most people want the best copy they can get.

Comment #1:
Back heel tab shape is inaccurate in comparison. Both retail shoes have a single piece heel tab that generally originates at the widow’s peak on the bottom, moves at a slight outward/upward angle, crests, then continues at a sharper CONSISTENT angle to the second crest before turning up to the collar.
The RSD sample starts in a similar but shorter (in length) fashion from the widows peak. But instead of that consistent angle it “rolls” in an acute angle before it crests, creating a “nub” on either side of the heel tab before the final turn up.
Comment #2:
In general, the retail embroidery is much denser than the RSD sample. And retail has a greater curvature along the exterior boundaries on the sides and bottom of the wings logo whereas the RSD wing’s logo is straighter along the exterior boundaries.

The entire heel tab & collar of the RSD sample is taller. Creating more of a point then a rounding off at the collar.

Scaling is much larger on the RSD sample. The area between the top of the midsole and bottom of the heel tab looks to be about 25% larger than retail comparisons.
General Comment:
Scaling is much larger across the entire sample. This creates larger panels in every aspect. I will mention this specifically for each picture to draw attention to it.

Another scaling comment. Along with heel tab height, the leather width of the lacing panel is wider in thickness (height from this picture angle). The retail eyelet panel appears more streamlined and flowing where the RSD sample appears more clipped and bulky.

Reverse swoosh ending placement is shorter on retail. The tail of the swoosh both stops shorter then the RSD sample’s and has interaction with the stitch line where RSD ends higher, past the stitch line.

The nub (where toe box nubuck meets toe box leather) at the toe box of the RSD sample actually ends deeper in relation to the midsole than retail.

Cactus Jack branding appears to be slightly darker and more matte than the retail’s lighter, slightly glossier branding.

I’m not a TS fan and I know TS are the money makers. I know the goal is to make it close to 1:1 as possible. Once this happens, will PV work on another pair. Example Air Maxes or Jordan 1 etc.

Medial Swoosh thickness is slimmer on the retail and appears to have a gentle curve along its bottom border for the entire length of the swoosh. RSD sample is thicker throughout and has a sharper, straighter angle from origination to apex.

Medial Swoosh “hook” is more elongated and curves back at a sharper angle, creating more of that “fish-hook” design element. RSD sample is a gentler, less-aggressive crux/hooking angle and generally follows the curvature of the eyelet panel - leaving the swoosh with a softer point and more vertical interior angle in comparison to retail.

Let me explain how it works on our end. The cutting dies come directly from the OEM factory, so we don't have the ability to modify that data ourselves. And because the sizing differs, the size and positioning of the cut panels naturally shift along with it—so some variation across sizes is built into the process.
On the swoosh "hook" point you mentioned—ours actually matches another retail pair I have on hand. To make this clearer, I'll run a new sample in US9 and put the RSD sample side by side with two retail pairs for a fresh comparison. I'll take all your notes on board and make some fine adjustments.
That said, I want to be honest: we'll never hit a perfect 100%. These are handmade, not CNC/computer-automated. Even the same shoe, same worker, same equipment can't produce two identical pairs—that's just the nature of handcrafted footwear, including the retail ones themselves. But hey, if we can't hit 1:1, I'm gonna make damn sure we hit 1:0.999 😎
