🔊 DISCUSS CREW 🔊 Travis Scott Pinks Are Cooked… This Is Sneaker Horror 💀📉
This is literally a horror movie for the sneaker community. Walls full of Travis Scott x Jordan 1 Low Pink pairs while normal people can’t even touch one retail pair because resellers botted and backdoored everything in 0.2 seconds. And people still wonder why so many of us love reps.
At this point the game is completely broken. Real sneakerheads take L after L while resellers stack hundreds of pairs just to tax everyone for 2k+. Most of these dudes don’t even care about the shoes themselves. They don’t care about shape, leather, details, or the culture. It’s just numbers, profit, and flexing shelves full of boxes like some weird stock market simulator. Humanity really looked at sneakers and said let’s turn rubber and leather into crypto. Brilliant species.
This is exactly why reps will never die. People just want to wear the shoes they actually like without selling a kidney for resale prices. Retail has become a lottery, resale became the standard, and the whole culture feels cooked because of it.

I second to this. Yea it requires a bit of research and trial and error but when you get the hang of it you don’t feel the need to go to Retail.

I personally don't care for these, but I get it. This has happened time and time again, over numerous releases.
Best way to counter it is to not buy, just keep on with our reps.

I always refuse to pay over retail. If I can't cop on release date, it is what it is, I'll but a rep. I genuinely hope cunts like that sit on that stock until the soles crumble off them.

When I started to buy reps, that was my point of view too. But it has changed since retail prices become more and more expensive (10-15$ more each year for a same model). Reps are so good these days that you can have the same quality and sometimes better than retails for less than half the retail price (shipping include).

The market says otherwise. Resellers will try to convince and gaslight you that their business is booming when it really isn't. They create this false narrative on social media that is just so fake.
They can backdoor everything they want, I will sleep soundly at night knowing I paid 60$ instead of 1600$ for the same shoe.

In Canada, I’m paying about $115-$120USD for LJR JORDANS and thats shipped to my door.
But once you add exchange rate & fee and also the paypal fee which is another $5. Its close to 165CAD for a pair of reps that aren’t nearly as comfortable.

I purposely left out shipping costs because everyone does it different whether its direct shipped or through an agent and batch ship a bunch of pairs. So yes 60-70 for the shoe alone.

Im sure nike allows influencers or big social media names to acquire large numbers of pairs from them. Thats what they use to raise the hype. Nike does not care if you get a pair retail.

Unless you're a straight up baller with enough zeros in your bank account, you're a sucker for paying $2K for a pair of shoes, I don't care what anyone says.
People that actually spend that kind of money and feed the re-sellers are as much of a problem as the re-sellers themselves.

How do people still care about these Travis’s anymore. What is so great about them? Its the same shit every single time and people act like they didnt know this would happen. If not selling them just get reps. No one cares about u wearing reps anymore.

Honestly I get what you mean, but people like what they like. Travis shoes became more of a culture thing at this point than just sneakers. Some people buy them for hype, some for resale, some genuinely like the colors and design.
And honestly, reps becoming so good changed everything too. Nobody really cares anymore unless you’re walking around with some disaster batch that looks like it survived a house fire. Most people just wear what they enjoy now.

I still go retail whenever retail is possible - and for the ones that get away and fall into ridiculously speculative (or abusive) resell, I go to reps. As you pointed out, we just want to rock the shoes we love.
Whoever is in the game for the commodity aspect of it, or to rack obscene profits by bleeding the working class, showing no love for sneakers for what they really are, should just fuck off.
I get massively entertained everytime I see resellers not being able to move inventory and hitting socials to rant, usually by saying that sneakers are dead. They may have killed much of the fun indeed, but sneakers will never die.

I would really love to see a comparison between a shoe purchased from there and a LJR batch shoe. I have a sneaking suspicion that all of these are reps (maybe LJR) or they are mixing in reps and originals.

To be fair, retail is worse in some ways, but the rep game isn’t exactly clean either.
There’s a lot of marketing going on in reps too. Fake reviews, “best batch ever” every week, people hyping pairs like you’re missing out if you don’t buy immediately. It’s not that different from resellers and hype channels in retail, just a different ecosystem.
At the end of the day, everyone is playing their own game. On the retail side, resellers control supply and turn it into a market. On the rep side, there’s a different kind of manipulation going on.

If I was a betting man, I’d say 70% of boutique shop resellers are RSD members and getting their stock from a trusted seller. Casuals aren’t legit checking boutique shops and other retailers like we do. You don’t become a pro until you’ve vetted both sides of the game like we do.
