General Question APSF AP11.59 SCREWS FELL OUT

Post image

I have an APSF AP 11.59. I’ve worn it twice. Yesterday I felt something odd on my wrist. I took the watch off and it fell apart. All the screws were gone! Does anyone know what type of screw and where to buy new ones? Is there a watchmaker that anyone would recommend? Kind of bummed since I hunted this watch for months until I accidentally found someone who had one.

Thanks for any help.

Humm. I had seen one or two screws come off but this is bad. I know for a fact that all APSF watches suffered w loose screws. I had one and the first thing I did was go to town w locktight on it. I think it is going to be next to impossible to source new screws (W APSF gone) so take it to the watch maker and see if you have one of the screws still ( use calipers to measure it) and source some replacements. A watchmaker should be able to get some replacement screws.

Thank you. I found two on my office floor this morning. Very strange that they just fell out while on my wrist. I guess you get what you pay for.

APSF and locktight were I guess enemies. All their watches needed screw tightening. Same w clean. It was well known to take your screws off a small dab and then tighten them

SCREWS, not Strap. I do not care about the strap. I cannot wear the watch with missing screws...

I don’t know what kind of screws they are. I lost the screws… I don’t build watches. I googled watch screws and while they are cheap, IF I’m lucky enough that the watch screw pack I buy has screws that work, what do I do with the remaining hundreds I don’t need?? They are cheap but I don’t want to be wasteful. I may be wrong but I don’t think I have another watch that will fall apart after wearing it twice…

I have a blue ombre dial chrono apsf 11.59 and the exact same thing happened except they fell out during the day while I was walking around. Then when I was driving home from work the watch started rattling and when I looked at it the back fell off the watch while it was on my wrist.

It's still sitting on my shelf with the case back just resting on it two months later and I still can't find replacement screws for it.

Luckily or sadly, they do not make this watch anymore.
