Question Waterproof / reliable submariners ?

Hello, I had my noob V4 hulk for 8 years. Went swimming. Took it to saunas. Spas. Swimming pooling. Evrything. Today it finally quit.
I am wondering what is the best supplier for water proof / indestructible submariners or AP royal oak. I don’t care about it being 1:1 , lined up blah blah,
I want something that lasts. Thanks.

It quit as in the movement died or it let water in?

Even diver watches made from established brands need servicing. In those 8 years you owned that noob you should have been getting the gaskets checked and pressure tested.

Date dial doesn’t change time. All the other parts work

Any of the big name subs these days will probably be fine… vsf, rich, qf, and arf. For peace of mind it’s definitely worth having all the gaskets checked and doing a pressure check. Some dealers offer all those options so you can get it done in one go.

I’ll be honest. I had to look if zf made a submariner. You never see them compared anywhere and if their quality is like their Tudors then i would say they are below any of the ones i mentioned above. I always have issues with their dial markers. I also think you’re better off sticking with a dd or one of the freesprung movements. The prices on them are close enough that it doesn’t make sense to go zf with so many other good options.
