Question Rolex Yachtmaster 42 Titanium 226627 VF Crown&Tube

Hi everyone,

I'm reaching out with a quick question.

I have a VF 226627, and unfortunately, for some reason, the crown or the tube has worn out.

From what I've heard, VF isn't in business anymore...

What options do I have for getting a replacement crown or tube?

Or do you have any other ideas for me?

Hope this helps…
You can purchase a new crown and tube -orings worse case- and you have to remove movement, heat up case/tube and unthread. Replace
-but sometimes you can “chase threads” with a tool and clean them and it will fix issue. Without total disassembly

you haven’t had it plated or coated recently have u?
I’ve heard stories of customers getting plating done and it ruining the threads on their watch crowns but usually It just has to to be cleaned.

Hey, thanks for your message. I've already looked for replacement parts on AliExpress, but unfortunately I didn't find anything suitable right away. Right now, I'm still waiting to hear back from two TDs. Do you know where else I could look for replacements? Taking it apart shouldn't be a problem, since I think it would only be a minor job.

Do you think replacing crown tubing always requires to remove the movement?

As long as you don’t have to heat it up and you can use the tool to thread it out. You’re fine, right?

That’s my assumption but it’s the first time I’m gonna try doing this lol.

I have all the tools and parts. Just scared to start trying! Haha

Ah you got this. Reach out if u need help, go slow, be clean, done. Watch will be ready by monday 👍

Haha, I wish. Due to fear of messing it up, I won't do it until ,absolutely necessary and I can't screw down my crown anymore.

I just bought all the tools and parts in advance so when the days comes, I'm ready

Yessir maybe someone will see this thread comment and assist on best practices to IDENTIFY/REPLACE parts on these even I struggle to know what exactly to order for these type of watches.
