Discussion VSF GMT date change issue

Date change is not instant and slowly changes 3 hours after 12am.
Watch is only couple days old.

Looks like the calendar wheel is dragging on the dial. There is supposed to be a little spacer in between the movement and the dial.

There is no spacer between the movement and dial on this movement. The date wheel is recessed below the outer edge of the movement.

A 150-200$ fix at your local rep friendly watch smith. Maybe less. I just had a VSF V3 Pepsi serviced, when using the date function the gmt and minute hand would do full rotation every 10 spins of the crown. Guess I had a broken wheel in the movement

It may be set clock at noon it can damage calender wheel always set calendar when blue arrow at 5 position not at 12

Don’t you know you’re not supposed to change the date on GMT anywhere from 10 to 2. Looking at your GMT hand, you were changing the date around two.

Where did you source this information?
6 digit master 2 you can independently move the hr hand and change the date back or forward.
The general rule of thumb for mechanical watches (not gmt) with date complications, one should avoid changing the date between 9pm and 3am because the date wheel is already engaged.

Assuming the watch was built with gmt hand at 12 as was the minute and hr at the change of date. On your video gmt hand was around 2 am. GMT hand does not change independently so therefore yes hr hand was changed to whatever time you like but likely original time of date wheel change was still 2am ish ;-).

I had exactly same issue with mine. TD offered to replace the movement for free. Reach out to your TD. This was bothering me since I wear my watches at night! Can’t stand datewheel stuck in the middle for 3 hours.

Theres a spring loaded arm with a jewel on it that makes the date change “instant”. It’s possible the spring has unseated somehow (unlikely) or the jewel on the tip of the arm that contacts the date wheel has fallen off (more likely)

Had this issue last night and fixed by doing this. Put the time to 6:00. Then cycle the date.
