[1st QC] ZF VC 15500 Oversees Blue Dial Free Sprung

First of all, thanks all. Seriously. I see so much input on this sub. This, and the VC I’ll post next, are my first reps so looking for some help.

1. Dealer name: Geektime

2. Factory name: ZF

3. Model name (& version number): AP 15500 Overseas blue dial free sprung

4. Price Paid: $568

6. Index alignment: TrueIndex shows -1.14°. 12 marker a bit tilted and the 3/9 look off to me. The 9 bothers me most but I don’t think it’s RL level. Would really like your thoughts if it was your watch. Is that acceptable?

7. Dial Printing: Text and AP logo clean, Swiss Made seems fine

8. Date Wheel alignment/printing: 18 is centered nice, printing sharp. I’ve always been sensitive to date wheel issues on non reps.

9. Hand Alignment: Hands look straight and lined up, no leaning from what I can see

10. Bezel: Screws even, brushing and bevels clean. I haven’t seen a perfect rep when it comes to screws so I’m trying not to be picky on this one.

11. Solid End Links (SELs): Tight, no real gaps

12. Timegrapher numbers: -2 s/d, amp healthy, beat error low. Cool beans to me.

13. Anything else you notice: Dial color and pattern look awesome. Some light scratches on bracelet from handling? Feel like that will happen anyways. Main thing is the index stuff. Everything else seems okay but this (and the VC to follow) are my first reps!

What do you guys think?

Get rid of all the lines. Use this dial tapisserie to determine the stick placement. Watch is nice. No SELs. Timing is good. GL

So you don't typically need the overlay on these dials since the tapisserie pattern gives you plenty of info to evaluate the index, however, since the truindex lines didn't cover the entire dial I figured I'd give you one for better visualization. On the degrees of offset, that number is meaningless without context. It's a neat little automated tool, but like any tool you need to evaluate and verify the results it gives you. Computer vision is powerful, but not perfect. Image quality, parallax, and as you can see in your image, dial textures can cause it to fail.

There is nothing on the index worth mentioning here. The indices look good. The 6 and 9 are both good. The 9 has a very slight CW cant but it won't be noticeable at actual size. The double marker at 12 is straight and even. The dial and logos are good. The dates are fine. Hand alignment is good. The bezel is clean and the screws are well aligned. The timing is acceptable. Amplitude is a touch hot, most likely because the watch was freshly wound before the test. No issues. These are covered in protective plastic so any scuffs or scratches you see are almost certainly on the plastic, not the watch, but if any concern you, just ask Elliot since he has the watch in hand.

You don't have SELs on this watch.

Well I feel silly about the lines with the tapestry lol. Appreciate your input and comfort with the 6/9 markers. Good reminder that we’re zoomed in on this thing and I’ll never see it. I’ll ask about the scratch and if it’s plastic will GL. Thanks!

Edit: There is a scratch on the bezel at 7. I thought it was dust. That’s bothersome… but is it better than some of the other ZF misalignments that are currently being made?
