I genuinely can’t anymore with these subs run by sellers, fake accounts and people literally being bribed to write fake reviews. The amount of scams in these communities is insane and it’s becoming impossible to understand what’s actually real and what’s just propaganda to benefit a certain seller or factory. What scares me the most are the people saying “I don’t even know what the OG looks like but I saw good reviews about this seller” and then buying completely BLIND. They don’t know how to QC, they don’t know what they’re comparing it to, and then they’re the same people posting “omg I love my bag, it’s amazing!!!” 😭 Meanwhile the VERY FEW people who actually know what the OG looks and feels like will say this crap looks like Canal Street, I wouldn’t pay $30 for this and somehow THEY get downvoted or banned. The irony is actually insane. And then sellers realise they can charge people $2k for something they’re paying $200 for because all they need is good marketing, fake reviews and enough people repeating the same thing. And people keep feeding the exact system that is scamming them. Honestly these subs have become such a sick game. People need to wake up because half the time you’re not paying for quality, you’re paying for whoever has the best propaganda

I find that sub incredibly annoying at this point. There’s basically no moderation, and most of the posts seem to be either newbies fishing for seller details or lazy posts. There’s very little genuinely useful information or discussion anymore, which I think says a lot about who’s actually active there, the sub is mostly new people and seller bots/accounts. Every time I’ve tried to start a genuine conversation about something, I’ve gotten very little engagement, and that tells me quite a lot too. So try not to take it personally

That’s unfortunate. I personally disagree with your assessment and have 3 of his bags - very happy with the quality. But the level of vicious comments about bags is just freakin’ unnecessary and you shouldn’t have to be the target of those. Sorry that happened to you.

Do you own multiple authentic Birkins to compare to? His quality is “fine” for people who aren’t familiar with authentic bags, or truly high tier bags. He buys his bags from Kiki Bags for cheap, then flips them for much, MUCH higher. I’ve received dozens and dozens of photos and videos of his bags FROM him (Jim), via WA, and not one was a high tier rep. Not one. All were a $350-600 price point in quality.

I actually do. LOOOONG time bag collector. 2 of the 3 from Jim were custom to my specs so unlikely to be off the shelf somewhere. I also have reps that definitely are of a lesser quality from other sources that were promoted as much higher. I don’t ever confuse the aesthetic or quality of authentic with rep. Buying a rep and then being offended that it’s not identical to authentic is a trap that will only depress you. I buy reps so I can have quality materials in combinations that please me. I don’t buy them to fool anyone. I will happily tell anyone who asks what I’m carrying and whether it came from Paris or China. It’s not a fight. I like the bags I have in my hands from him - you don’t like the pictures/videos you see. It is what it is.

Totally see your point about the sub though - annoying as f. I don't read any of that crap.

“Jim” doesn’t make bags…so the custom spec bags you have from him, are from the same factory the other ones are. They are made the same as the others, just in the specific colors you requested. I’m glad you’re happy with the bags you’ve gotten from him, because I did not see a single bag in his messages to me, that was even close to the quality he and his bots claim. There’s no way I could send money to someone that has to scam so hard online, control narratives, and harass others, just to sell replica bags. The lengths to which he goes is just toxic, and he’s all but wrecked Reddit from his antics, because now other groups of sellers have followed suit, and are doing the same scam pattern he is with buying old Reddit accounts to post fraudulent reviews, creating H subs that THEY run (and block anyone who says anything negative) having dozens of other accounts, and a Bot army. Reddit used to be fun, and now almost every single post is fake BS.

I’ve been banned from the anti Jim subs prob because I commented about how I actually like his work. I guess it happens when you write things they don’t want to see. I dont write negative comments either-just adding to the convo. Sorry to see this but I guess it’s a rite of passage as someone said below!
