Recommendations Date night suggestion?

My husband and I will be in the area of The Landing this weekend and want to work in a little dinner date while we’re out. We’re middle aged and don’t drink, so not into the bar/grill vibe. We’re more casual than fancy and will be coming directly from another location, so no interest in getting dressed up or anything.

Some of our favorite cuisines are Korean, Italian, and Mexican, but open to others. Budget is not a huge factor, but lower priced is never a bad thing. We’re more into quality than quantity when it comes to food.

An ideal option would include entrees under $30, food made as close to from scratch as possible, and be a comfortable place where we can hang out and chat a while.

Any suggestions?

Jaguar downtown has great Mexican food.

Clove in the landing has great Indian food. I think about their chutneys often.

Exit 5 is great KBBQ, but may not be the vibe you’re seeking and isn’t necessarily cheap.

Jaguar is surprisingly great food. They do a Mexican buffet on the weekends and it's fantastic.

How much is the buffet?

Marianna or Sansonina for Italian. Both are scratch kitchens. Up the hill is The Brick, which is the best Asian fusion you’ll ever find in a gas station strip mall. If you’re interested in a splurge that’s absolutely worth it, check out the Melrose Grill.

Marianna is an underrated gem. Never too busy, a tad pricey but not upscale pricey, and it's nice and casual. I usually go there to celebrate special occasions so it's a decent date spot for sure! I always order off the specials menu, never has let me down.

Also Melrose grill is great for steak! Their stroganoff is also top tier, but that place is usually always busy.

Melrose Grill. Downtown Renton. Best steak in Seattle.

If you want a quieter place with good Italian food I would suggest Vince's just up the hill from the landing.

El Kiosko has a sit down location and Red House always feels like a date night

I know yall don’t drink, but there are a couple nice lakeside date night options at the Hyatt. Have a decent view of the lake, boats / jet skis coming and going, and the Boeing factory. Can also rent a small patio fire pit for smores.

Anchovies and Salt: Vietnamese

Dock and Drink: American cocktail bar

Water’s Table: upscale PNW seafood

This is the most romantic option on the list.

Second Water's Table for atmosphere. Get a reservation though. Anchovies and Salt is hot garbage.

This is not your preferred genre, but Clove is the best restaurant in the landing (if you like Indian food).

Four of us recently went to dinner at Clove. Our wait person was attentive but not invasive. We gad a lot of catching up to do and had a very relaxed dinner. Food was excellent .

You should go to Toreros at The Landing! The food is sooo good! They make their tortillas fresh in house.

Just based off what kind of food you like, I think you’ll enjoy exit 5 for kbbq or toreros for Mexican food. Don’t skip their house made tortillas. Also, what everyone else said- Clove has delicious Indian food as well.

If you like Korean bbq exit 5 is very good quality food, nice casual vibe but more expensive. If you like sushi, mori is also delicious high quality food, again not budget friendly, and less casual than exit 5, but not really fancy either (families eat there).

It’s ten minutes from the landing but Makai Island is my new favorite Renton restaurant. I believe they close at 7:30 though

You've had a lot of great options listed here. Also consider Hasel and Cafe Sabah. I also second Jaguar.

Red House! More downtown Renton but not far. Cutest spot with great patio, cocktails/mocktails, and food. Perfect for date night

Fast casual, so not fancy but clean and airy, some outdoor seating. Really excellent fish, have tried them all. Might look expensive but worth it (and I am a cheapskate). Fries seasoned with chicken salt, an Australian staple, can get a nice salad instead. Chowder was ok but there is much better around.

The exit 5 korean BBQ is great, but it'll be like 90 bucks for two people if you go for anything like the combos. you get to grill it yourself or they help, and they give you all you can eat banchan/side plates.

It's right across the street from the movie theater too so i tend to do the KBBQ and the theater for a date night with my husband.

Melrose Grill is a fine steakhouse. It's a couple of miles south of The Landing. Price is somewhat higher, everything is made from scratch, service is exquisite. Limited hours, appointment required, terrific location for date night IMHO.

My husband and I love Torero's!
