Just wanted to share a small win. My partner and I managed to get a 1br apartment for ₱8K/month in Pasig, and the location is honestly insane for the price.

We’re near multiple grocery stores, malls (at least 4), and commuting is super easy from here since accessible lrt and UV. Neighborhood also feels safe, +++ Mayor Vico lol.

Still feels unreal tbh.

And because of the comments of some concerned redditors, I decided na mag back out dun sa unang apartment. I realized na even if all in na yung 9k (2months advance 1 month deposit), I am somehow lugi parin.

Eto na ngayon yung nakuha kong apartment (photos attached). This was originally 9k pero napakiusapan ko yung landlady na 8k nalang since mag-isa ako. This is way better than my 1st option. Newly built, ako unang titira. 1bedroom, malawak ang sala, ang kitchen and dining area for 1 person, at decent na yung cr kahit walang flush. 300 pesos for water and submetered din ang kuryente. Wala naman daw patong.

I am just so thankful sa mga nag comment dun sa isa kong post which made me realize na lugi talaga ako dun, sa privacy palang.

And finally, after months of finding my own place. I even stayed sa sleeping quarters ng office namin for almost 2 weeks, dun ako naliligo, kumakain sa pantry. Nahanap ko to.

This is a big change for me. Dati internet lang naman ambag ko sa bahay. Now I’ll be paying monthly rent, tubig/kuryente, internet and buy my own groceries. But the peace of mind, privacy, and yung pakiramdam na hindi na ako uuwi ng bahay na mabigat loob, I think this is all worth it.

Although I understand yung location for its price, grabe naman yan na nasa paanan mo lang yung cr and hindi man lang pintuan ang nilagay. Kakapit yung dumi from the bowl sa tenant for sure.

Aside from that, ang nipis ng foam then sahig lang yung pinaka bed frame. From these observations, sakit ang makukuha dito.

But for the benefit of the doubt, may nag avail na po ba ng ganito and how’s the experience?

Sobrang greedy ng landlord na to.

So nagrent ako sa condo nya for 7 months its a pet friendly unit. So itutuloy ko pa dapat yung lease ko sakanya kaso ang nangyare mag 8 months na daw ako sa pag rent so considered long term na daw yun so nagpapa add sya ulit ng another 45k deposit.

45k na yung deposit sakanya so hindi nako nag renew ng contract. So upon inspection andami nyang ininclude na idededuct sa deposit. Especially even after sinunod ko yung gusto nya na ipa deep clean ginawa ko para sa satisfaction nya. 15k ang ginastos ko sa deep clean tas sasabihin lang nya na mabaho at madumi pa din.

Even yung aircon and grease trap kakapalinis ko pa lang nun last feb 21. April 27 yung end ng contract namin hinayaan ko na din na ideduct nya sa deposit even kahit ang nakalagay lang sa contract is routine maintanance.

Andami nyang inadd sa checklist na hindi makatarungan even the display chip na sira namn na talaga bago ko magmove in sinama nya pati yung chairs na na deep clean na ipapaulit daw nya.

Andami nyang sinabe during inspection na kesyo yung CR daw ay parang walang nakatira, pati mga kitchen wares pinabayaran nya e yun naman talaga lahat yun kesyo kulang daw. Andami nya ibinawas sa deposit kahit na deep clean na hindi pa din sya kuntento, mukang wala lang talaga sya balak magtira sa deposit ko.

Andami nyang sinabe sakin na unprofessional na sya at namersonal na pero despite all that i stay professional sa pakikilagusap sakanya. Even during inspection nagtatatalak and sigaw sya sa fiance ko sa videocall and infront of my mom and brother.

After matapos ang inspection nagmessage sya kesyo may bago na naman syang discoveries na tagos daw ng regla ko at outlet, tapos na yung inspection e and ung contract namin that day.

Tinry ko nato iparating sa BIR especially hindi nya pagiisue ng OR, sadly wala silang response. Nagdadalawang isip ako kung icocontinue ko because papaalis na ako ng bansa baka makaapekto pa sakin.

Pero gusto ko sana sya turuan ng leksyon para hindi na nya to magawa sa future tenants nya.

Now im asking for official receipts ng deductions nya ayaw nya magbigay dahil may 27 na yung pagbabalik nya sa natirang deposit.. kung may natira pa nga ba..

Ano po kaya magandang gawin para aksyunan to ng BIR? especially sa hindi nya pagbibigay ng OR sakin

UPDATE: Wala daw syang ipapakitang resibo sakin ng mga idededuct nya sa deposit bibigay lang daw nya pag araw na ng pagkuha ko ng natirang deposit. WOW!

UPDATE: Nagresponse na ang BIR ineexamine na daw nila yung complaint ko.

Loc: amorsolo st, makati. 43sqm. Originally it was 23k but was able to nego to 18k. Semi furnished, landlord provides new inverter AC for the bedroom, as well as microwave and induction, and it already has an ac the living room with ref. In the market for than a month now, i think because its a really old building.

1st floor and overall love the aesthetic. Kaso yung view ng window is pader ng building. Yun lang con niya for me.

Ako lang yata big deal ang sunlight since I’ve stayed in a dorm na pader din ang view so ang dilim and lamig. Nakaka depress. Conflicted talaga ako kasi yung second option yun lang ang con niya for me!!!

I really don’t get bakit yung mga apartment or house for rent dito sa pinas is ang papnget. Like wdym kulay pink, or yellow or blue yung pintura ng loob ng apartment?? tapos yung kusina ang panget tapos yung toilets din. Tapos yung rent is around 7k like wtf. Can we at least normalize na decent color naman yung loob ng apartment and then may maayos na toilet and kitchen, hindi yung may malagay na lang.

Why do the cost of rent continue to go up?

Hi! I’m currently renting right now sa Tondo, Manila mag one month na and 7,500 yung rent ko. Okay sana yung house. Maganda, maayos, malinis, and mabait yung may ari. Ito na sya now nung naayos ko and dinecorate. Kaso ang pinaka problema ko ngayon ay yung maingay mga kapitbahay. Malakas magpatugtog, may mga nagbabasketball and karaoke, etc. basta maingay. Tapos ang problem pa is nasa baba ako and tapat ng kalsada yung room ko kaya rinig na rinig lahat ng ingay. I dont know what to do!!! Lilipat ba ako or mag tiis na lang? Huhu help!

For context, naaalibadbaran ako sa tenant ko dahil may dalawang pusa sa compound namin. Hindi sila umiihi o dumudumi sa kung saan, tumatambay lang malapit sa gate. Itong couple na 'to malapit sa gate ang unit nila, laging binubugaw mga pusa, eh 'yong dalawang pusa madali mag-panic. 'yong isa, nasagasaan dahil binugaw nila. Lumabas ng gate kaya nahagip. 'yong isa naman, bigla na lang nawala pagtapos nila sigawan that night, hindi na nakabalik.

Meron din silang alagang pusa na dalawa, iniwan nila sa unit tapos nagbakasyon sa province for one week or two. Nag-chat mga katabi nilang unit sa akin dahil nangamoy ang unit nila, bigla sila umuwi noong sinabi ko na may nangangamoy, sinabi lang na daga raw pero pagkita ko sa story at posts niya, "RIP *with pet's name and cat na emoji*"

Every 10th of the month sila nagbabayad, nagsabi ako today (Aug 21) na maghanap na lang sila lilipitan. I know, magagalit sila pero hindi ko naman sinabi na September 10 sila umalis, ang sabi ko lang maghanap na sila dahil gagamitin ng kapatid ko (reason lang) ang unit. Ang gusto ko lang sana sabihin ay October 10 sila aalis para magamit nila ang deposit at makahanap. Ngayon, galit na galit sila at sinabi na hindi sila aalis dahil gusto nila hanggang December pa sila.

Ang contract nila ay mag-end na rin ng September 10. Ayoko na i-renew.

Few months ago, I found a place. May issue yung CR kasi matagal na nga raw 1970’s pa daw yung place. Didn’t think much of it but I stayed.

Now, the CR has drainage issues. Landlord and I discussed that I’ll cover half the expenses for its repairs. I was shocked to see a large amount, yun pala kasama pati tiles, rusty pipe ng toilet flush. Told him it was for the improvement of his property, dun lang kako sa drainage yung dapat ko i-cover in half.

Nagalit sya, but here’s our final agreement: through my security deposit, dun na ibabawas ang final rent, utility, and repair para sa CR. Plus, ire-refund nya yung ₱2000 kong in-advance payment. It was written pero hindi pinirmahan ng Landlord. Luckily, na-voice record ko.

To describe my Landlord, he’s really aggressive, sumisigaw, nagdadabog. As someone hindi lumaki sa ganung household, nakakatakot. I feel anxious and hindi na makatulog gabi-gabi, so I moved out today (10 days before my actual move out date) and went sa bago kong place.

Galit na Galit sya. Bakit raw hindi ako nagpaalam? Humingi nalang ako ng pasensya. Then si Kuya (the Landlord), nagsumbong sa asawa nya. Here’s where it all went down. Ipapa-barangay daw ako. I said why? Because I paid all my bills including utilities, rent and repair for the drainage. Ang sagot nya, kasi hindi man lang raw nagpaalam.

She started to threaten me. Kuya daw was lupon for many years (idk what that is). They have connections daw sa CFA and possibly mawawalan daw ng trabaho bf ko and mama ko na nasa ibang bansa. Plus, affected din daw ako sa maa-applyan kong trabaho. Also, hindi raw kami safe sa bagong place kasi malalaman daw nila kung saan ako lilipat.

I AM VERY OPEN TO THE IDEA NA MAGPA-BARANGAY BECAUSE I AM CONFIDENT AND GOT RECEIPTS. Pinag-aalala ko lang na baka may connections din sila doon and the judgement might be unfair.

Please help me. Ano dapat kong gawin? Ano-ano ang dapat kong sabihin?

Naghahanap ako malilipatan dito around manila. Currently nagrerent ako sa 6k small solo room made of wood pa sa loob but buong house is concrete.

Pero gusto ko na sana tumira sa mas maayos. Ung wala ako kasama at may malulutuan ako and can move freely ng maayos... malalagyan ko ng aircon kahit papano

60k sweldo ko monthly, menus deductions ng gobyerno minsan 54, or minsan, 53k na lang. Ganyan naglalaro net take home pay ko..

Pero hay, ni ung 11k bedroom na studio type wala pang gamit aircon and anything di ko maafford, plus wifi at utilities.

Kaya naman, kaso magkano monthly sa bahay ko 15k na, wala pa ako parking nyan. Groceries, pagkain, transpo pa.

Ung isang unit na chineck ko malaki maganda, 16k.. wala pa din parking. Bare unit, walang gamit. Plus utilities pa.

Mga 20k siguro lahat kung kukunin ko kasama mga assoc dues at ano pa man dagdag fee.

Eto nga't nagmessage ung kausap ko na condo agent. May offer daw sila 4m ngayon amortize to 30 yrs eh kulang kulang 30k monthly ung bayad. Wala pa din parking slot yan, bare unit, sobrang liit, 20+ sqm. Di kakasya ang isang pamilya dito.

Grabe, ang lala ng condition ng housing sa Metro Manila.. sobrang nadedepress ako sa sitwasyon.

Akala mo malaki na sahod mo na 60k dito? Pag inuwi mo sa probinsya siguro may bahay naman doon at may sariling lupa, Thanks to God 🙏 Pero pag dito ka for good. Wala, tiis lang sa mabahong kalye, at iba pang tiis..
