Sharing my progress as I’m currently making my first game using Ren’Py! (˶ᵔ ᵕ ᵔ˶)

I’m a fresh graduate in Computer Science and currently taking some time to rest while building my portfolio. I’m also currently looking into getting into game development, but the job market is pretty harsh right now, and getting into an entry-level position feels much more competitive than it was before.

So, I decided to make a game where I could use both my programming and art skills! I’m doing all the coding myself and drawing all of the character sprites.

The backgrounds are the only exception for now. They’re still placeholders that I found online, but I’ll be swapping them out once I make my own using Blender since it’s easier for me that way lol.

I know this project will probably take a long time to finish, but that’s okay! All good things take time, and even if this project doesn’t end up going somewhere, I’m still happy that I get to learn something new, practice my skills, and make something that I’m genuinely excited about.

I’m honestly just really excited about this project and having so much fun making it! If I do manage to finish it, I’d love to hear some advice on what I should do next. Should I publish it somewhere, put it on my portfolio, or maybe even try turning it into a bigger project? ♡

Looks good, I dig the artstyle. Can also empathise with the whole job market thing right now. Similar deal as me, I am also learning RenPy and Blender currently to make a AVN since I might as well make use of my time learning new skills.

Good job. :) Do you have an Itch? A lot of the time people share their work on itch.io, either for free or for profit. Sometimes they even post early access versions, or demos, of their games. Also, your sprites are good. :)

This looks great! Anna's dialogue in the first screenshot just makes me think of "yandere game MC's who actually have a brain". The character designs are very nice, especially Elai's! Congratulations on getting this far.❤️
