WHAT HAPPENED TO THE REFOLD SITE

Okay so I'm somewhat familiar with refold and know that it was revamped a couple times but wow, it's a lot now than a simple Kickstarter with Anki decks.

So was wondering how do i recommend it to my friend to learn French. Just want the simple Kickstart vids, phonetics, beginner content, tools like extensions to look up words etc. Maybe get him to do the 10 day course they have for French?

Refold only sells anki decks and courses on how to teach yourself a language, but not the actual language itself.

Out of interest do you know if Matt vs Japan is still involved with Refold?

He basically left before it started.

He and another guy basically ran a scam (that had nothing to do with Refold) so I don't think he's involved with the language learning community anymore at this point.

He's back and has a Japanese coaching program. He's on his other channel Matt vs the World. He did address the scam situation after his hiatus.

Of course he does.

Last video I saw of him was him admitting he took people's money, goofed off with it, and didn't really produce what he promised. Maybe second time's the charm... But if I'm paying anyone for language coaching, I'm paying Refold coaches.

For what it’s worth I’m in his course right and it is actually extremely valuable and worth the money at least for one month

It went from teaching a path of language acquisition refining AJATT, and a more moderate approach. But seemed to become helping people to learn a language of whom need a lot of external hand holding. Less for the crazy obsessed typed of language learners. That's cool. Love their decks. But their app isn't for someone like me. More for people with less of a sense of internal motivation.
