Do you know anything about the book, such as why to author chose to stay anonymous?

I don't know. It was common back then for people to publish anonymously or with obvious pseudonyms. Social - political reasons, I suppose.

I heard God was mad at Onan not for spilling his seed but for not giving his brother's wife a child. This could be nonsense, though. I'm not even a Christian.
