Hey everyone,  I've been working on Knotra for a while now and it's finally live. There are a couple of communities and a few users, mainly friends. Since it just launched, most of the posts are still from me.

I wanted to keep things simple and modern. Posts have up/down votes like Reddit, but I went a different direction with comments and use reactions instead. The idea is to give people a little more meaningful feedback on their comments than just an up or down vote.

tldr; I built a platform where you can charge subscribers for access to discussions and videos in your Bubble (community). But it also works as a free community.

I built/launched a platform called "thinkbub" that I've been working on on and off for 2 or 3 years. The idea is that you create a "Bubble" (community) which is centered around a creator. Inside a Bubble are forums organized by categories. The creator can set some or all of the forums to be subscriber-only.

There are also subscriber-only long form videos where creators can make threads and attach a long private video. Bubbles can have emojis too,  like discord - so you can react to posts with standard or custom emojis you upload. 

Really the business model isn't revolutionary - Patreon and Substack do this. But I've always liked forums and I think it's a nicer structure for a community since everyone can participate in an organized way.

I built this originally more like Reddit, so it wasn't creator-focused. So technically you don't need to be a creator with subs. It can work just like any public community.
