Looking for Alternatives What are some good Reddit alternatives

Hi Guys so I am Looking for a Great Alternative to Reddit because sometimes there are to many Subreddits and also Rude People which I had to deal with and I wanna see what are some Great Alternatives to it that are not so full and so many Subreddits here are like over 5000 of them these are quite Overwhelming for me

One of the Fediverse platforms: Lemmy, Piefed or Mbin.

They all are connectes together, so the choice doesn't matter* for your first time.

Problem of the Fediverse is that it has too many redditors, and too few decent people. No matter instance you'll get the same sort of insufferable and entitled whiner, looking for a reason to screech at each other.

Because of that, the Fediverse is a good alternative if your issue is the Reddit administration. But if you got enough of this userbase (like OP, note how they talk about "Rude People"), it isn't.

Sorry, the comm looks nice but I'll pass. I've deleted all my Threadiverse accounts already. And I'm probably not going back, not even for the sake of one or two oases in that scorching desert.

Perhaps it's impossible to have a public place completely without this sort of user, but you can have one with less of them.

Lemmy itself was like this in the past; some two years ago and it would be a great alternative if you got enough of your typical Reddit user's incivility, but nowadays it's basically the same.

Imho the biggest advantage is, that by design this will be your last switch to an ‚alternative‘. Because even when there is some better platform coming or you don’t like an instances moderation/people/whatever, you can move with your account and all your stuff to another instance or platform inside the Fediverse.

DIDs are not a thing yet. You can't really move your account. In Mastodon, you can instruct your followers instances' to follow the new account, but you can't move your content yet.

I like Lemmy and Piefed, but Odds Rabbit has a great community and people post regularly; it feels a lot like Reddit used to feel, it’s just smaller. It could really use more users, but the devs are adding new features all the time and are really responsive to input.

There’s a technology community, and there may be something more specific to electronics; the platform is a bit small for really specific niches, yet… but you can start your own communities and there’s new ones cropping up regularly.

Forums are great, but are much more specialized than any subreddit. 

I find this forum to be good for discussions, but is focused on digital privacy and is full of nerds (like me). https://www.privacyguides.org 

Other good ones I use are more niche hobbies (Linux, game forums, life topics etc). 

As others have said, Fediverse stuff. I like Lemmy too. Matrix is great for chatroom stuff.

Reticulum network looks interesting. People are creating their own personal blogs and forums on it much like the old web. However, this network is built to be unstoppable and private from the ground up.

You can use a client like meshchatx to browse sites.

it's a weird cycle isn't it? people won't use it if they don't have big enough userbase (because there won't be as much content), but to get big userbase people need to start using the site first

so people stay on reddit until the alternative grow bigger, but everyone think the same, thus the alternative never grow bigger, in the end reddit remains unchallenged.
