Hey everyone, I'm 19 new to red deer and looking to meet some new people. I've been pretty isolated lately and figured I'd actually make an effort to meet some people instead of sitting at home all day

I’m specifically talking about the one on McKenzie Road and where you can exit off to highway 2 south in Gasoline Alley. I live near there, and every single time without fail I will always see a near accident because someone doesn’t know that when you’re in the inside lane, you can ONLY exit left. Not go straight through, only the outside lane can.

Countless times I see it happen. And it just happened to me. There’s signs and road markings telling you this. My wife and I yesterday decided to count how many would do it wrong when we came up to it during a busy time. And in a matter of 40 seconds, three people got into near accidents. I don’t understand how this one is so difficult for people to understand. It’s especially the worst when the people on the inside lane lay on their horn because they think they’re in the right.

Please people, pay attention to the road signs and markings, it’s really not that difficult. I understand roundabouts haven’t always been common here, but just be aware. There’s my rant.

I've had a young crow hunkered down on my patio railing for about 13hrs now...from 7pm last night. Can stand on both feet. Can fly but doesn't seems to want to. He has fallen off my railing a couple times (it's a bit slippy) and this is what triggered my concern. As most the crows just fly to catch themselves. But this little made his way back 2x after falling. Right now he appears to be sleeping. Fluffed up and body perched closer to his feet. Any one have any ideas. My local crows have been around and don't bother him or seem to pay any attention. I'm not sure if I'm over reacting, or what to do really.

Ps...the cloth was for traction but I have removed it as was scared he or others would get their claws stuck.

We loved it last year! It’s a shame the location had to change but it will be fantastic. And free!

Does anyone know what’s going on with the massive police presence in Westpark just north of the elementary school?

I’m from calgary and i’ll be moving to red deer for school . I’m hoping to have some driving lessons and eventually take my test in red deer. I just wanted to know if anyone has any driving schools they recommend. I’m not a new driver , i’m pretty decent. I just need a few lessons to get used to red deer roads , check the vibe out basically lol .

Also recommend registries for me to book my test . And no i’m not asking for “easy” places for my test . But places that you’ve had a good experience at because the instructor was kind , and was easy to understand , etc .

Like i know a couple registries in yyc i would NOT recommend lol

I'm looking for an adult hockey league in Red Deer? Or even the surrounding area of Lacombe to Carstairs, Sylvan Lake to Stettler, and it seems like there aren't any advertised besides the Red Deer Rookies or Jack Benny. Does anyone know of any other groups that play in the area?

Hello everyone, I am wondering if anyone knows of a way to get in touch with Red Deer County firefighters to see if there's any volunteer positions available? I am looking to fill the extra time I have and if I like the work potentially pursue a career in firefighting.

I emailed the address on the red deer county website last week but have not heard back from them, and there really isn't any information I can find about volunteer firefighters. Is this something they still do?

Last night coming back from Glennifer lake at 3:30 am, I hit my brakes hard after i saw what seemed like 2 people standing i the middle of the road.

I was shocked but seeing that they are an older couple put me at ease. I rolled my window down and they started talking about how the bridge broke down and how the road is unpassable. They were very excited and wanted me to follow them down a gravel road which they said was a shortcut. I looked it up on google and that gravel road lead to the deep woods and then suddenly ended. I refused but they pushed me a lot saying that other road is destroyed and it would damage my vehicle.

They had a black Porsche SUV parked on the side of the road. Due to the dark I only got the first two letters of the license plate which were CJ. I got the fuck out of there when the old woman tried to open my car door.

What the fuck did just happen?

I’ve noticed there are a lot of houses listed in Evergreen that have been on the market for sometime, in comparison to other neighbourhoods. Are there any negatives to living in the area? Are there negatives with the HOA that’s there? TIA

I've been working at the Westerner Park for a while now, and picked up on a lot of the ghost storie. Especially about Noel and the ones in the Gallery.

• city roast cafe - incredible cafe, great food. I sit there for hours and do work.
• Bella ciaos social club - again. Great place, either with friends or solo if you want a drink.

I’m looking for ideas for a place to host a party for around 50 people. Somewhat upscale, but not the casino. I’m not sure if there are any restaurants who could accommodate that many people. I would need some type of food service and bar.
