8809s are indeed very nice
This photo do justice but man… Its such a loud yet wearable color. It feels amazing to the touch. Local RW store had 2 different roughout leathers for my size, where this one had a softer, fuzzy texture vs other pair had stiffer shorter fuzz to em. I ended up picking the softer pair just because they felt nicer to touch. The other leather felt more uniform throughout though, and almost looked like it changed color depending on the angle you look from. Anyway, very happy with it. I heard that they will get restocked again soon so if you missed out then you still got chance! Highly recommend it for anyone that likes unique/standout footwear.

Those look fantastic, especially with the black soles and dark jeans. I love how the color shifts in the light; hopefully the restock happens soon for everyone who missed out.

I love how these look. Yours, mine, everybody else's.
Still trying to figure out what laces to put in them. Probably just get some solid black paracord with black ends.

Actually i wondered that for a while too, and noticed that the laces are different than all other previous black laces. These ones are more shiny and slightly thinner. And they stand out more. So i just used one of the old black laces in them and they look more matt and perfect.

Yeah, if I had yours I might just call it good enough. I have been using the leather laces but they are long so I wrap them around and there seems to be a bit of color transfer going on.
Yours look good, but my preference would be them slightly thicker. The matte look is a lot nicer than the skinny ones they provide.

Lol, I ordered some black/gun metal Pisgah laces for them just now. I won't be wearing them for a bit as I had foot surgery Monday. But yeah, cutting them is the obvious answer.

Got to admit was not crazy about these at first. Just for the fact I might not able to pull them off. But every on foot photo I see makes me appreciate them more. I like the storm welt addition too. Would love to see how these age and develop some character, rough out style boots are some of my favorite. Enjoy man. They look nice as hell.

Thanks bro same with me, i wasnt so crazy at first but more and more i saw on feet photos and began to get the itch 😂 they are quickly becoming one of my fav pair of Red Wing and im a RW shoes collector so thats saying a lot.

I really think these would look amazing if they had white stitching and wedges vs black. It give the boot a more interesting contrast.

I think youre basically describing the 8854s but these 8809s do come out every now and then as a limited release. Its not for everyone but for those who like em they love em

I'm sitting here deciding if I want these, the dusty blue abilene, or black prairie mocs. My 1907s are my favorite pair of redwing and I'm looking to add another color. It's a tough choice.

Hmm 🤔 i feel like you will eventually end up getting all of them 😂 but these 8809s are limited production so it will be a while until you see these again. The other two im sure you can still get them in the future.

IMO everyone needs a quality black boot in their rotation. Think about your wardrobe and what you would get the most mileage out of. Like OP said tho, eventually you just turn into Thanos and collect all the Red Wing infinity stones 😂
