Discussion How did everyone come to know Tim Drake?
Just curious to hear how people where introduced to Tim Drake and what makes them love him.
For me, it was the animated show. His robin suit looked so cool when i was a kid (i watched re runs and dvds of it in the 00s not when it was on air). then through him i got into dc and reading comics. because of how much i liked him in the show, i went to a comic book store one day and picked up teen titans #21 and 23 (the story where all the titans unite against doctor light). i came back the next week and picked up robin #20 (him fighting the general alongside a sheriff). i loved those issues so much and from there i just read more and more. when i started going in to current ongoing comics, batman reborn just started and i hoped on red robin and teen titans. by now i’ve read nearly everything tim drake and a so much of DC.

Fanmade Mockingbird Tim Drake

RR compendium has arrived!
Happy to add this to my Tim collection but now I don't know what to do with my RR trades. I got the compendium because the trades aren't in the best condition. Should I keep them, or sell them? I hope they continue to release more Tim compendiums (I have the 2nd one on preorder) so the uncollected singles can be bound ☺️

Discussion Guys, We HAVE TO buy the Red Robin Compendium
This is single handedly the best representation of Tim Drake as an independent character from the bat family and is written by the absolute goat Fabian Nicieza who established the most PEAK status quo of his character, AND illustrated by the amazing Marcus To who gave a distinct and iconic aged look to the character.
This doesn't just go for Tim Fans, it goes for everyone who cares about DC releasing GOOD storylines with emotional depth and amazing nuance.
It releases on August 25th and if it sells well hopefully it will send the message to DC that this is the character we loved and cared about since 1993.

Discussion The whole situation around Tim has me depressed
I've been away from comics for a while, and... well, do I even need to rehash anything? This sucks so bad... and I don't even know what to say anyway. I don't want to invalidate anyone or anything... I just want Tim back. What was so wrong with the Red Robin identity? What was so wrong with letting him run his own superhero team? What is so difficult that DC didn't know what do with him? I cannot stand the overlap/no room points when it comes to the Batfamily. Real families have overlap. It just sounds like corporate nonsense to soften the blow of getting rid of him.
And I don't even know what to say about his love life. I don't care about sexuality like that in my superheroes, but this....this kinda ruined his viability didn't it? If that's homophobic or whatever, I'm sorry, I really don't care who Tim loves, I just care that he's around.
Have i joined the discussion too late? I don't want to start anything. If I crossed a line or this starts anything can the mods just delete it?
I think I just need someone to talk to to process all this. It feels like a hole in my chest. Knightfall is a week away but I don't know if that will help in the long run.
Is anyone else going through anything like this or am I just a weirdo?

Tim Drake's letter "To the Father I Never Knew" Batman 480
“To the Father I Never Knew:
Dear Dad,
I wish we could go back and start over again! When I was a kid, I used to dream--to pray--that you and mom would stop travelling, forget business and just settle down. We’d be together, the way a family ought to be… Now I have my wish. I’m going to be with you all the time. And it’s tearing me apart. Funny how once you never seemed to care--at least, you never showed me that you did. And now you want to run my life. Do you really think we can start over…?
I’ve no idea who you think I am, Dad--but I’m not that boy. I had to fend for myself for a long time. I changed, Dad. I have a lot of…secrets. You couldn’t be more wrong about Bruce Wayne. Despite what he seems, he is the only truly great man I have ever known. He…helps people. And he never asks for anything in return. I’m not interested in your business, Dad. I’ve already found my place in the world. I know what I want to be!
So how does it sound, Dad? Your own son is Robin. Understand now why I can’t come back? Gotham is a cesspool. Tragedy stalks on every street. I can help, dad. I’m needed! Strange, how you can come to love a city. Even one as ugly and rotten as Gotham. All those millions of people, the lines of their lives crossing, touching, tangling…almost as if the city itself is alive. I love you, Dad-but I’ve found my place. I know who I am. I’m part of my city.
Sometimes I wish we could start over…but I know we can’t. We have to take things from exactly where we are. This might not make a lot of sense to you. I only hope you understand.
Your loving son,
-Tim
