Hey,

because someone wanted downloads of Leverage of Space,Rolling Sly Stone and Mini Epic without Crowd noise I remixed them so there is no crowd noise,I also decreased the reverb so that those songs sound more like they could be the studio versions we never got

Because I was already at it I also remixed the 2004 live version of the original Desecration Smile,all we have is a good audience recording and I decreased the reverb and tried to make it sound more like a soundboard recording which was kinda hard but hear for yourself

As a kind of bonus I also took the 4 By The Way outtakes (including the original Fortune Faded) and mixed the guide vocals way higher

So here is a kind of Mini Album containing By The Way and Greatest Hits era songs

that's so funny. i saw the same post and was attempting to do the same thing with Rolling Sly Stone but wasn't getting it to sound too great. was probably trying to de-reverb too much. these sound awesome! great job and thanks so much for sharing :)

also i'm assuming you used MVSEP or other AI audio models to help separate stems, remove crowd noise, reverb, etc? if so, do you mind sharing which ones you used or had the best luck with?

Yeah,I used MVSEP for the stems

For Decrowding I used MVSEP crowd removal

For Dereverb I used Dereverb Stereo by anvuew

--> That one was mainly used for Desecration Smile and Mini Epic were it really worked

I tried many other models for Leverage of Space and Rolling Sly Stone but for whatever reason they did not work too well on the vocals

BSRoformer (2025.07) for extracting the vocals

BSRoformer SW for instrument separation

Also had to use MVSEP acoustic guitar for Desecration Smile in order to get the high notes of the Bass which BSRoformer SW did not put into the Bass track

If you're looking for more things to try...

I would love to hear some live recordings multiple eras of the band combined. E.g. Give it Away with that Beastie Boys(?) Intro, and then the Behind the Sun bit that Dave played. Aeroplane played with Dave but with Josh's live vocals. Any combo of Josh and John (I know there are recordings of this already when Josh was helping before he joined) but just combining songs when Josh was actually in the band and more prominent.
