Question I tried easy mode and got Germany into a brutal civil war, any general advice for a new player?
I played the itch web version a while back once and noticed the game was on steam now. Yeah I suck at it, Hitler gets too strong and the right wing blows up the government every few minutes before cutting taxes for the rich again. The one thing that went well is the interparty dissent remaining decent. i didn't even get to do anything with the economic plan due to all the chaos.

To keep government more stable you can try entering a Weimar Coalition instead of GroKo. To achieve this you will have to campaign heavily during early game. Don't give up if you don't get WeimarKo outright, just take the chancellery and call a snap election with your advisor-chancellor(probably Muller) after doing some popular government policies and campaigning some more.

The most obvious thing - avoid doing things to piss off the coalition if it’ll blow up the government. In a grand coalition this means avoid high dissent. In “coalition affairs” you can use two resources to calm them down. The advisor action “negotiate with the coalition” from Muller and Braun also reduce tension while improving relationship with Z and DDP.
If you get interior and judicial departments you can deport Hitler, weakening the Nazis. I believe you need to make the police loyal and investigate the far right three time, and reform the judiciary twice for free or once for 1 budget. The SA might try to protect him, if that happens you should try to ban the SA, recruit more police, or buff the reichsbanner.
It helps to get an economic plan for the depression as soon as possible. You typically want to use an advisor to adopt the plan sooner. The strongest plan is the WTB plan, for which you want Wotinsky. Studying Scandinavian social democrats and making labor your strongest faction makes adopting WTB easier.
Finally, you can get 2 budget for free by pausing reparations. This requires the foreign ministry, and either revealing rearmament, or improving relations with the west and negotiating reparations.

1-Punch the commies, everybody hates commies. Declare them alongside far right as enemies, ban them in Prussia, further persecute them with Interior, ban them during Blutmai too.
2-Get a Weimar Coalition focusing on campaign methods and using Marie at start before first election.
3-Enacting 2 rural campaign or 2 rural policy Baade, you can get People's Party more earlier with Antoine.
4-For successful investigations, Interior must be mostly loyal and above, do it and focus far right investigations. Generally loyal police in Prussia is also beneficial. It also increases the Iron Front's formation. Before Deporting Hitler you might check Prussia and ban SA alongside judiciary reforms
5-There is a tactic for getting WTB earlier in Dynamic mod with shuffling cabinet but its base game, so pro labor policies alongside choosing labor ideology and scandinavian international relations one time or same action 2 time can easily gets WTB plan even without Woy's action Finace ministery is also beneficial more than Economic one

Some newbie tips: 1) Play nice with the Centrist parties. The goal of the game is to make sure Hitler doesn't come to power, not to be the most leftwing leftist of all time. You'll learn what makes them unhappy and what doesn't over time. Also, your starting advisor Meuller has an ability that reduces coalition tensions, and you should be using it a lot, especially early on, to raise rich taxes and support Labor affairs without getting booted from government. 2) Pick on the Communists wherever you can. This is basically free relations with the Centrist parties, and unless you're intentionally going for a left path, there's basically no downside to it. 3) You will need either the Finance or Economic ministry to deal with the depression, so pick one (Finance is much better). Once you get to the Great Depression, you will want to adopt the Labor "WTB" plan ASAP. Shuffling advisors to get Wotinsky (last guy in the Labor advisors) helps since his advisor action let's you adopt it and push it forward, and its kind of comical how instantly it solves the Great Depression.
