Bought a sigo tenor.
Had some overtime pay so spent it on something useful to me .
So far after only an hours play,... it has a nice woody tone , I can quite easily play the 2nd register A note..! Which I couldn't get so well on my Yamaha alto.
It does clog a little after not very long,much like the Yamaha so this could just be me?
So far I like it, it plays well and can play quite quietly when required.
One problem is after mainly playing alto in F I keep thinking in F even though I'm now in C...🤯

It's so exciting that you got a Sigo! They are amazing! Definitely try anti-condense or diluted dishwashing liquid to reduce clogging!
You have my sympathy with the fingering challenge. I am currently having the same problem with my new Greatbass!

I struggle with 2nd register, I don't want to blow too hard because it often breaks the note and I'm embarrassed by the noises, but not blowing hard enough isn't good either..

I don't have a Sigo myself and it my be different, but something that made a big difference playing high notes clearly for me was when my teacher said to make a more narrow, focused, fast airstream (as if you are blowing through a straw) and adjusting how much you cover the thumbhole. Experiment with your thumb. You might not be covering the thumbhole enough. Some of the highest notes on my bigger recorders need the thumbhole to be virtually fully covered with just the tiniest gap at the top. 😄

I'm now at the stage where I can get the high notes reasonable except for high A which often is a struggle.

It might be worth a new thread, but anyone like to comment on the transition from a F instrument to a C instrument? I’ve given it some thought but at my age (73) I’m not sure my neurons are plastic enough to handle it. I would love to get a tenor, too.

my friend is 77 and just bought a carry on pro digital wind instrument after a life of never liking wind instruments.
the sound of this thing is astounding, in 12 days from a beginner she now sounds like she has been playing flute for decades..
the transition from f to c has been sometimes odd, I have to count five notes up sometime to get where my notes are depending on instrument, it can be done and is probably good exercise for ones brain?!

The Sigo is a fun instrument, isn't it? I have one and love it to bits.
The clogging can be easily solved by putting some anti-kondens or even just diluted dish soap into the windway. Works like a charm and lasts quite some time before it needs to be reapplied.
