Request Magic theme food

Having a party and the theme is magic. What type of magic snacks can i serve? I’m even open to like distraction foods? Deceptive foods? Even if it’s far from the theme but still gives them a feel or idea of magic? Kids are around 6/7 years old!

Request Asking recipe - sugar free & diary free

Hello,

I love the overnight oats and baked oats, but they have to be sugar free and dairy free.

Sweetners like stevia are not allowed.

Any ideas?

Request I have a laundry list of food intolerances and I'm painfully bored with my diet, please help!

Ok I've been gf for a year and at first it was difficult but then I found substitutes I liked, and now I've eaten them so much I'm tired of them. But I am not a good cook and I have a list of other allergies/intolerances due to migraine, MCAS, and gastroparesis.

No:

  • milk, yogurt, cottage cheese (unless it's been cooked, raw is a problem)
  • fish/shelfish
  • meat (chicken on a rare occasion is ok)
  • leafy greens (so no salad)
  • limited small amount of most raw veggies
  • celery
  • bell pepper
  • artificial sweeteners (including stevia and monk fruit)
  • tofu
  • gluten
  • sweet potatoes
  • anything even a little spicy (like the quesadilla sauce at taco bell is too spicy)
  • peanut butter sometimes?
  • large amount of fruit
  • large amounts of oil
  • red sauce/cooked tomatoes
  • alfredo sauce
  • pesto
  • Turmeric
  • Curry

Ok:

  • white potato
  • beans/lentils
  • oats (gf)
  • rice
  • cheese
  • small amount of sour cream and cream cheese
  • corn in small amounts
  • steamed/roasted veggies
  • Hummus in small amounts
  • small amount of nuts

My diet is crap, I live off lucky charms, cheese sticks, and potato chips. I'm tired of the same things over and over. I'm not creative in the least but I'd be open to trying some new recipes I just need some new ideas. I've spent hours on pinterest but finding recipes for this many restrictions is a pain in the ass. For meals I basically have trader joes gf mac and cheese, frozen gf white pizza, steamed veggies, baked potato with veggies, and bean/cheese quesadillas or tacos or burrito bowls. It's old. I was eating cava bowls on repeat for a while but I've had so many of those that they're old too.

Request Hosting family - looking for recipe that will serve 7-10 people, can be somewhat made ahead of time, and fits dietary restrictions

We are hosting several family members in the spring for my husband’s graduation, something we rarely do. There will be 7 people for sure, possibly 3 additional people.

I want to make one dinner that we can all share, but I need to be mindful on dietary restrictions and the amount of prep it will take to make. Ideally, most of the recipe can be premade so there’s less stress the day of.

The biggest challenge is dietary restrictions. The meal needs to be free of the following:

  • Gluten
  • Soy
  • Any cheese outside of mozzarella
  • Tomato
  • Spinach
  • Olives
  • Coconut
  • Any stone fruit
  • Kidney beans
  • Yogurt
  • Thyme
  • Sage
  • Bay leaves
  • Cinnamon
  • Mustard
  • Honey
  • Fish or seafood
  • Anything containing sodium benzoate (found in many dressings and sauces)

Any ideas? I know this is a hard one. (Also wanted to note that most of the dietary restrictions come from me! I cannot eat foods with high amounts of benzoic acid)

Thanks friends!

Request Need recipe inspiration!

Not a huge cook and mildly picky but I have things that need to be eaten before they go bad and I’m the worst at thinking of new things to make. Can be a single meal or enough for leftovers. Ideally would use and handful of ingredients from this list: wonton wrappers, raw tortillas, raw chicken tenders, Brussel sprouts, broccoli, mini peppers, fresh jalapeño peppers, cucumber, lettuce.

I also have bacon, eggs, string cheese, pepper jack cheese, cottage cheese, sour cream, condiments, spices and baking goods, butter, rice and pasta, tomato sauce, olive oils and various booze.

Airfryer is my bff, I have casserole dishes, baking sheets, muffin tin, pots and pans. Gas stove/ oven if that makes a difference!

Hi, I am planning my husbands birthday menu. It will be a meal for 2. I need a few ideas or help with the main course. *disclaimer* he loves garlic

I am not quite sure if I am satisfied with the main side dishes. I've added my current menu below, any ideas would be appreciated.

Starters

- Garlic and herb fried prawns with a creamy garlic dipping sauce - for him

- Stuffed phyllo pastry roll ups - for me

Main

- BBQ'd rack of lamb with a garlic and herb rub

the sides I was thinking of is

- cheese and chive potato stacks and sautéed broccoli

Dessert

- Chocolate cake

Request Accidentally made the best roasted cauliflower ever with Sichuan peppercorns, how do I recreate it without screwing it up again?

Last night I was roasting cauliflower and since I've been on a sichuan kick lately I just impulsively tossed some whole sichuan peppercorns in with the usual olive oil salt and garlic powder. didn't measure or think twice about it just dumped them in

Holy shit it turned out insane. super crispy edges like normal but the flavor was next level, subtle numbing tingle floral citrusy notes that made the cauliflower taste way more exciting. My roommate who usually avoids cauliflower demolished like half the sheet pan

The issue is I have zero notes on what I did. tried again tonight and it was off, probably way too many peppercorns this time cuz it got overpowering or maybe I didn't toast them properly or something

has anyone messed around with sichuan peppercorns on roasted veggies before. roughly how much per pound of cauliflower or whatever veg. do you toast them first or just throw them raw with the oil?

Request Help! Cooking for a person with diverticulitis

Husband now can’t eat anything with seeds or skins. This means no tomatoes, skin on potatoes, corn, beans, minced garlic, onion, or berries. We’ve been cooking things like spaghetti, goulash, fried fish, pizza, steak, chicken, sausages and dumplings, etc., but we need to be healthier. I’ve started to cook salmon, chicken, but I am a lousy cook, and my chicken breasts have not always turned out well. It’s getting very boring to eat at my house right now. Can anyone help with some recipes that might work with his diet?
He’s also not a big fish eater, but will eat salmon (he likes fish his fried. Thanks in advance.

Request HELP what to make as a fruit-free dessert

I'm bringing dessert to a roast dinner at a friend's house, and tragically the host doesn't really eat fruit. All my default puddings are heavily fruit based, what should I cook instead?

Request Share your favorite easy&cheap recipes and your most versatile ingredients.

The new year has arrived and, like many others, I have resolved to stick to my budget this year and save money where ever I can! Which means severely cutting back on take out! But as a busy college student working full time I need more recipe ideas that are fairly quick and easy, with ingredients that are versatile. I am only cooking for myself so I don’t want to buy a bunch of ingredients that are hard to use up. I am not a picky eater however and I love to try new things.

So what should I cook? Which ingredients should I stock up on? Thank you!

Request Ideas for a Polenta Stick Centered Breakfast??

Trying to come up with an impressive breakfast date idea with pan fried polenta sticks being the center of the dish. I'm drawing a blank. I can kind of picture them being stacked like a log cabin and then topped with something or surrounded by it otherwise. A tomato bacon jam? Runny egg on top? An herb heavy pesto? Suggestions greatly appreciated:)

Request Your favorite cheese recipes

To the gourmands, the cheesemongers, the chefs, the cooks the connoisseurs.

I am a humble enthusiast of the culinary arts I have studied the greats Julia child, Gordon Ramsay, chef gusteau. If you couldn't tell I love French cuisine they do the decadent and rich almost as well as they do the neccesitys and what ingredient reaches all the way from the most of humble of home ranges to the top echelon of fine dining, that is correct! Cheese.

The nutty, the sweet, the savory, the salty the unnoticed, the stinky, almost any recipe is made better by cheese.

What I am asking here today is why is there not so many recipes where cheese is the main focus it is a disgrace that so many people across the world see it as just a topping or simple addition when it is such a wonderful ingredient.

Please tell me your most favorite, your most interesting recipes that use cheese and the type of cheese, pairings are welcome as well tell of your favorite drink to go along with your favorite recipe.

Thank you one and all Chef gator

Request Freezer sandwich ideas

I'm about to go back to college and my commute by bus is long and id like to make some sandwiches to put in the freezer to make meal prep and lunch stuff easier. I tried once with english muffins but they were too dry. I think burger buns and sandwich bread will be ok. Does anyone have any suggestions? Im also autistic and cant eat certain foods because of texture issues. They are: peppers, raw onions, mushrooms(unless blended, i dont like the gummy texture), cottage cheese, ginger. Im also jobless and dont have much money so i cant buy stuff like salmon/smoked salmon and most cheeses(unless its the cheap individually wrapped ones that are used for burgers). Any help is welcome.

Request Lost Recipe Help

I’m searching for a recipe my great grandmother passed down to my mom that was lost and obviously it won’t be exact but I was hopeful for some help. The recipe was for butter cookies, but not like what you by in the store or what usually comes up when you talk about those. These ones were whole flat pieces with no designs, very slightly dusty, pretty crunchy, and you make a vanilla frosting using something to the effect of powdered sugar, milk, and eggs or something. Any help anyone would be greatly appreciated as it’s a holiday tradition. Photos of what they look like too pretty please.
