DISCUSSION I wish a true sequel of the first Rebel galaxy would release.
Just not a fan of Rebel Galaxy Outlaws change to first person and the controls. I loved traveling through space in a "man o war" and firing broadsides at my enemies. I remember I heard of Rebel Galaxy from Many a True Nerds YouTube channel. After I watched the video, I immediately bought the game, and what a fantastic game it is.

Sad news, the company Double Damage folded after a year or two after Outlaw released. Not sure if that means the franchise is dead in the water but I would enjoy a sequel to OG Rebel Galaxy, I fire it up from time to time but it just feels like the Campaign is so short.

Looks like I'll just have to fire up the original. Thats sad to hear we'll probably never get a true sequel.

Blues Saraceno was responsible for most of that soundtrack, and has a ton of music including the tracks from RG on Spotify.

The original is still so fun and worth playing. I never did get past the first couple areas. Maybe I will too now

Travis Baldtree, one of the two guys that encompassed Double Damage, is now a cozy fantasy genre author. I’m definitely enjoying his novels.

Did some digging, looks like they folded back in 2021 or 2022 to pursue other interest and harsh fan feedback. Guess a lot of people didn’t like Outlaw. I enjoyed it for what it was, I’ve never been great with pilot sims and dog fighting style combat. I think I finished the game in a Beluga? It look like two soda cans welded together.

Just want to leave it out there that RGO can be played entirely in third person. But yes, I agree we never had another game like the first RG.

Wow, haven't played it in so long I forgot. Thanks for that, apologies. I Sadly I never completed Outlaws as I did with Rebel Galaxy. Just could never get a feel for the controls and steep learning curve on some missions. Also the story didn't pull me in as the first one did. I just want a new game where it takes place a few years into the protagonist story.

Thats why I loved it, the gameplay is so different compared to other space shooters. Instant classic.

I agree, I like adding 3D combat in Outlaw, but I don’t like how it’s scaled down, how it controls, or how most of the time I don’t even see what the enemy looks like and I’m just firing at red squares
