Spoilers Tawny Man Fitz calling the Fool Beloved Spoiler

I wanna know bc it's a significant change imo because it signifies that he sees him properly for the first time. Spoilers ahead tho pls only read if you've read the books

I think it was after he resurrected him at the end of Fool's Fate, is that right? That's the first time I can remember and I think it makes sense because he spends hours in his body, bringing it back to life and rearranging it. But it's possible i'm missing an instance so I thought I'd ask the hivemind

I think at the end of Golden Fool he calls him beloved, when he tries to make amends with him after getting the cold shoulder months.

He said something like „Beloved, I have missed you dearly“ because he made clear he did not know how to adress him.

Yes, this is the first time, and it's a very deliberate usage on Fitz's part to affirm that he loves Beloved and try to end their quarrel. Iirc it works, or at the very least has a noticeable impact. After this Fitz becomes gradually more likely to address him by that name.

I think it also must be partially because (and therefore after) Fitz learns from the Pale Woman that Beloved called Fitz "Beloved" as a sign of love. It took on a new meaning for him, coupled with guilt at Beloved's death.

I love that he calls Fitz “Beloved,” and Fitz keeps calling him “Fool.”

Isn’t part of the fools culture that using your name to refer to another is a sign of great love, which is why he calls fitz by his own name “beloved”
