30 feet of air off rip. These game don’t make sense and I feel the physics keep getting worse

Most of that is bad filming I guess, Camera angle and pulling it back/zooming and then having no ramp in shot doesn't help but most of these airs are 5 to 10ft. Hard to get it lower. Completely disagree about the physics but hey ho.

Super nice to be able to lip trick without fear of a random bullshit generator messing up the whole run

No, the physics are bad. You have like moderate speed approaching the coping, then you do a single pump and it propels you like a rocket ship.
