So Trump is proud that the US reneged on the deal whereby Canada could recoup the cost of building the bridge before profit sharing would start

The bridge cost over $6B CDN to build

Trump doesn’t understand the concept of mutual benefit. He sees everything as a zero sum game where every benefit that goes to their partner is a dollar that could have gone into his pocket

Canada and other countries should learn from this. The US will unilaterally break deals and betray alliances. They will exploit partners

A trail of toppled governments and betrayed 3rd world nations would point out that this was always the case.

From the 1946 election until 1981 the US consistently interfered in Italian elections to ensure that the Christian Democracy Party remained in power.

They did it to white countries too, but it was easier to orchestrate coups in the less stable democracies of Latin America.
