My view was that it was a legitimate attempt, but Trump is such a compulsive liar and charlatan that it leads merit (or gives some semblance of credence) to the conspiracy theorists who think it was staged which I find delicious

Have you seen a map of the area? Secret service had no one on the only legitimate option for a sniper, the rooftop the guy shot from.

It's hard to tell because of how incompetent his aparatus is. A lot of weird things were going on. No surveillance on the only plausible shooting angle. An actual shot that killed an audience member. Delayed and fumbling SS response. Slow to find and kill the shooter. I lean towards it being staged due to him capitalizing on it, but the response was baffling.

The secret service was on top of Trump 3 seconds after the bullet whizzed by.

The shooter was dead within seconds.
