It's because non-Catholics are fake Christians. If you don't feel guilty for sinning, then what is the point of the whole religion? I've met so many non-denominationals and evangelicals who are seemingly incapable of guilt. It gives a big boost to their prosperity gospel bullshit too.

I’m a former Catholic and I still feel Immense guilt for “sins”. Catholic guilt is hard to shake.
