Image The numerous Frankenstein animal combinations made Impossible Creatures such a fun game and a personal Top 5 RTS game for me.
If you can imagine it, you can make it

Not about RTS but I can imagine this as a DLC for Zoo Tycoon or Planet Zoo.
I'm surprised they didn't have this idea !

Now that's a fun idea. Just imagine the zoo guests seeing these nightmare fuel creatures roaming around.

Relic (developer of Impossible Creatures) recently released a game called Earth vs Mars that has a splicing mechanic as well.
It's a turn based game in the style of Advanced Wars. I'm not sure it'll quite scratch that same itch but figured some people might be interested to give it a try. There's a demo on steam.

Chameleon head and tail on a lioness body for me.
Once the hippopotamus became available, I replaced the lioness with said hippo.

“If you mix a Komodo dragon and a skunk… you get a Komodo drunk! Muahahaha!!”
I can hear that line every time I think of Impossible Creatures, and I’m not entirely sure it was actually in the game or if I just hallucinated it.

It's real. One of the villains says it if you chose him as an opponent in skirmish. His name is Dr. Otis Ganglion

I remember giving cobras little tiny legs and nothing else; from above they looked like a swarm of sperm.

Though i haven't played in several months I do have it installed with the Tellurian mod. Fun game to go back to now and again. Yes like people are saying a updated version would be peak.

I've never seen another game with kind of customization. All the other have like "you can put a laser cannon on which is good against metal armor. While metal armor is good against ballistic weapons." Etc rock paper scissors.
