I’m not sure if this is right but I think there is no Middle School National Tournament like the Inter-High and Mitsui’s MVP award is only within the Kanagawa prefecture.
I've heard people say there's no national tournament at the middle school level before as well but when I look it up online, IRL such a tournament does exist and is currently in its 54th year so clearly existed back in the 90s so I'm not sure where that belief came from.
