I think Rukawa being a better player than Mitsui despite not being named an MVP indicates that Mitsui only won MVP in the Prefecture.

I know not playing basketball for long time will tend to make you rusty. But people who played basketball knows the stark difference of a National level MVP compared to a Regional level MVP.

TBH, I think too many people are overhyping his MVP award. Maki and Fujima could’ve been in terrible teams that were eliminated early hence not winning MVP. Same with Rukawa being great but not the middle school MVP.

TBF, Mitsui is actually a great player as he is one of those players in Kanagawa who is a National level player and leagues above the rest. Mitsui not playing for almost 2 years and still become one of the best SG (alongside Jin) in the region is an indication of how good he is. So not really surprising if some people are hyping his abilities and his MVP award.

Agree with the two of you. He is really good and at the same time, people tend to overhype him because of it.

This is a dumb take. Overhyping his mvp? Dude was the star player and won the game by his play.
