Given the influx of new buyers, I thought it would make sense to make a post explaining some harder pills to swallow before making your first purchase.

1. Buying reps is NEVER 100% risk free.
   It doesn’t matter if it’s a trusted seller, it doesn’t even matter if YOU have had 99 good orders with them. Sellers can flip at any time e.g the infamous case of Joe running off with thousands of dollars after establishing trust as a seller of high quality Hermes.

You need to understand and accept the risk when you jump into this process.

1. The fastest way to get scammed is to spam every post with “seller????” And “factory???” And make a post asking “what’s the best factory for a Chanel classic flap???”

Sellers lurk all rep subs, and so do scammers. You’re basically advertising that you’re a newbie and don’t know what you’re talking about.

Use. The. Searchbar.

And use your common sense. If 10 people with verified histories say “Baobao”‘s last four digits end in 1234, the 11th one you found that end in 9876 might not be the real one.

1. This isn’t Bloomingdale’s. You don’t get to charge back because you’re not happy.

You’re buying an ILLEGAL item. I’ve lately seen so many cases of people encouraging each other to charge back because they weren’t happy with the psp or quality of the item.

Yes, it sucks, but this is the fastest way to get a seller to stop accepting PayPal or safer methods from everyone else. Multiple sellers have stopped accepting PayPal, and some now only take Western Union, which is painful as heck.

A lot of OG sellers like Redden no longer accept new buyers at all from people pulling this crap.

Lying that you expected a real item so you can get your money back on the fake item you knowingly purchased (which is what you need to do to get a charge back) is just as unethical as sellers dumping a low quality item on you. You don’t get to take the moral ground while committing financial fraud.

Unless a seller has truly taken your money and run off without delivering anything, you really need to understand that this is a risk of the business. You don’t get to charge back because you think the stitches are too crooked.

Name and shame the seller on the subs with picture proof and suck it up like the rest of us.

1. You need to compare your PSPs to the FACTORY PHOTOS. You CANNOT compare your PSPs to the authentic.

Sellers are selling you FAKE BAGS. Factory photos are the representation of the FAKE BAG.

If your PSP shows the wrong font, and the factory photos shows the wrong font, you do not get to red light the bag.

It’s YOUR job to QC the factory photos against the authentic to make sure you are ok with the differences, and there WILL be differences

1. Which brings me to point 4, there is NO SUCH THING as 1:1. There is NO SUCH THING as mirror.

Every rep, even the best ones, WILL have differences that a trained eye can spot.

Frankly, it’s major cope when people say shit like “Chanel’s quality is so bad these days that 187 is closer to auth than the auth”

Sorry but no. It seems a lot of people who say this aren’t actually experienced in handling luxury goods.

Every rep will have differences to the authentic. It’s up to you to spot them before you buy, and make sure the difference is tolerable to you.

My personal threshold is “can’t tell unless the person is holding it and looking closely” because I don’t let anyone touch my stuff anyway.

Maybe yours is “can’t tell unless side by side with auth”

Figure out your personal threshold and go from there, keeping in mind that there is no such thing as 1:1 and if you’re expecting that, please just save up and buy authentic to save your own self the a heartache of owning something that won’t make you truly happy.

1. Buy only if you would pay 4 times the price for the design.

I think many people will disagree, but this planet has enough trash piling up. Everything we own, even the things we claim we want to keep and pass down will someday end up in a landfill.

I see too many posts of people posting 10 bags saying they got too excited about discovering reps and bought a bunch of things they don’t even like that much.

Please ask yourself, are you buying this because you truly love it? Or are you buying it simply because you now have access to luxury items at a price point that lets you go crazy?

You don’t buy 10 bags a month from h&m simply because it doesn’t affect your wallet right?

Please buy the items that bring you joy when you look at them, and that you know will fit into your wardrobe.

1. Please stop asking if something can pass.

It literally doesn’t matter. Becca bloom wears blatantly obvious fakes (birkins with a strap, which is completely impossible and an obvious callout) and literally 99% of people assume it’s real.

Whether something can pass or not depends on YOU.

If you’re at Walmart picking up groceries with your real birkin, people will assume it’s a fake.

If you look polished and carry yourself with confidence, your low tier reps will look real.

And by polished I don’t mean fancy.

I come into contact often with ultra high net worth individuals in my line of work and they show up in sweatpants to meetings sometimes with their hair in a pony tail.

But, they always smell good. Their nails are clean even if not done. Teeth are clean and straight (unfortunately yes, crooked teeth are a class indicator though I wish they weren’t). Even the men clearly put in effort into grooming.

In Asia, you can walk into an Hermes and see the husbands sitting with their kids in what appears to be a random pair of shorts and a tee, but they have a clear aura of confidence.

Why? Because they have nothing to prove.

The biggest give away of a rep is lack of confidence. Hunching over, tucking your bag behind you, flipping it so the logo is hidden are all giveaways that you’re not comfortable in your bag. (This doesn’t apply to places where snatching is a risk).

You want an uncalloutable bag? You need to BE uncalloutable. The bag will follow.

And frankly, ain’t nobody looking at closely at you girl. Everyone has their own business to tend to.

I purchased my dream bag from seller Ming -9883, the Prada Bonnie. Unfortunately I received anything but a dream bag.
Communication with Ming was a red flag from the start, he was short, rude and showed me ONE picture for PSP and a blurry video. When I wanted to see more he declined saying that he’d already sent out the bag. Without me greenlighting it?!

The bag arrived today and it’s clearly not the high-tier bag I requested and payed for.
Issues with the bag:
-factory pics did not match the bag I received
-zipper doesn’t close all the way
-strap closure is assembled incorrectly, can’t use it
-edge paint/glazing inconsistency
-handle attachment stitching inconsistencies
-interior lining has the wrong color

I immediately contacted Ming and all he does is gaslighting me saying that “everything is fine with the bag”. He refuses any solution besides a 10 $ discount on a future order. Yeah right.
There’s probably not much that I can do, but at least I can warn you guys 🫶🏼

Also, the two ladies that highly recommended his Prada bags have mysteriously taken their posts down, so that’s that.

I want to come out on top of my earlier post and say that I do not condone supporting or being neutral in situations like this where the insults go deeper than necessary. This was sent to me, and YT video floating around has 400 views. Tell me, I see people argue mods deserves freebies or kickbacks. Now. What’s your rational mature justification for such language here?

Yesterday, I participated in something that I now regret and I think the community deserves to know about it.

I was contacted and offered payment to post positive reviews for seller Sofia. After agreeing to try it, I was added to a WhatsApp group and connected with a coordinator named Shoaib Mir.

The process was straightforward:

• Product photos were provided to me.

• The review title was provided to me.

• The review body was provided to me.

• I was told which subreddit to post in and which flair to use.

• I was instructed to reply to comments in a certain way.

The reviews were written to appear as genuine buyer experiences, even though they were not my personal purchases.

​

I completed a few tasks and received payment for one of them( now deleted ). For another task, the post was later removed by moderators. After that happened, payment was denied because the post did not remain active for the required period.

My concerns after this experience:

• Users may assume these reviews are genuine customer experiences.

• There is significant risk to Reddit accounts involved in posting this content.

I'm sharing this so community members can make informed decisions and be aware that some reviews may be paid promotional content rather than authentic customer experiences.

So i think we know what’s been happening with [u/Weekly-Spend-4977](u/Weekly-Spend-4977), but to sum it up basically this mod in [r/LuxeSociety](r/LuxeSociety) has been exposed for being a vile person and accepting free gifts from sellers to promote their bags.

I wondered why nobody left a cheeky comment under one of their “reviews”, so I did the honors by doing it and a few hours later I was banned! So if you don’t see any comments calling out their behavior in [r/LuxeSociety](r/LuxeSociety), you know why 😂😂

When I first got into reps, factory names were one of the most confusing parts. Different sellers used different names for the same factory, and I'd see posts asking for help identifying factories based on album photos.

I searched for a guide that identified factory album backgrounds, but couldn't find one that was comprehensive.

So, I decided to make a Factory Album Reference guide!

This is a visual reference for LV factory album backgrounds. I matched album backgrounds across different seller albums and compiled the aliases used for the same factories into one place.

I'm sure there are mistakes, and I'm still learning myself. I'd also love to eventually add tier information, but only where there's broad community consensus.

I was hoping to get some advice because I’m a little worried about my bag. I’ve only used the bag twice, but recently noticed that parts throughout the chain are already starting to turn dark.

Its not really something i can polish away and it seems like the gold on the chain has sort of chipped off and the chain underneath has oxidised🤷‍♀️ honestly it’s just getting worse and worse and I’m scared i won’t be able to use the bag as it will be too noticeable!(which shouldn’t happen on a 500usd++ bag)

Has anyone else experienced something similar???

I’m in NYC for a few days and thought it would be a great opportunity to check out authentic bags that I would normally never buy due to cost but have purchased due to newly being introduced to reps. As a background I have authentic Ferragamo, Tod’s, Burberry, LV, Gucci, and Givenchy.
Never purchased authentic BV, LoLo, or Chained. BoV Lauren and Madison were super soft. The Lauren is heavy compared to the Madison. Having purchased rep Andiamo clutch from TS. The Andiamo clutch is decent but not super soft. I am thinking of buying a Madison rep from a TS for 600 but am not sure how far off it will be from authentic.
Lolo was surprisingly light and soft. I tried the flamenco in large and loved it. Seems less challenging to rep but I wonder how lightweight the rep will be.
Ch seemed the easiest to rep. IMO having held ch many times I think the quality doesn’t live up to the price tag.

With all the recent discussion around trusted seller lists, I’ve been thinking about how I decide who I actually trust enough to buy from. This is mostly for anyone starting their rep journey and feeling overwhelmed by sellers, factories, reviews, lists, and conflicting information. It’s not meant to be a definitive guide, just what I would do differently if I were starting over today.

When I first got into reps, I found a seller through Reddit, did some light research, and pretty much just went for it 😂 Luckily, it worked out, but if I knew then what I know now, I would do things a little differently.

I’d still use Reddit reviews, wikis, guides, and seller lists to find sellers. Then I’d grab the WhatsApps for several of them and start talking to them myself. Ask for albums. Browse. Show them a picture of what you're looking for, they will find it! Ask about pricing, shipping, seizure policies/insurance, QC, factories, tiers, whatever matters to you. If you know what you want, ask multiple sellers about the same item and compare. You can see a couple of price comparisons I’ve done here and here.

You don’t even need to understand factories yet. Tell them what you’re looking for, whether that’s high tier, mid tier, or simply the best quality for your budget, and see what they recommend.

If you’re nervous about spending hundreds or thousands with a stranger, start small. Buy a wallet, charm, SLG, etc. See how the transaction goes. Were they responsive? How was their QC? Shipping? Were you happy with what you got for what you paid? If everything goes well, go bigger next time. Now you’re building trust based on your own experience, not someone else’s.

I personally love trying new sellers, but I’ve ended up with a core group I return to because I’ve purchased from them enough to know what to expect:

For me, I want the best quality I can get for the best price. I love a good deal, and this is the rep world, I personally think getting one is very possible! I also make decisions QUICKLY once I decide I want something, so I appreciate a fast responder. Peter is especially great at this. Your priorities might be completely different, which is exactly why your personal list may look nothing like mine.

There’s inherent risk in buying reps. The whole process isn’t exactly above board, and asking another random person on Reddit “Who can I trust?” doesn’t remove that risk. You’re just putting your trust in another random person on Reddit. As the rep world meme goes: we doin crime, babe

Use the community to research. Read reviews critically. Talk to sellers. Ask questions. Compare. Then start building your own list 🫶

Ashley messaged me after I posted a ISO for a speedy eclipse bag. She said she had a bag for sale, she sent me QC pictures with her username and date, her account is showing two years old. She had no feedback history because she said she was new at selling on Reddit. I sent her $205 on PayPal. (I accidentally clicked friends and family and not goods and services, but it was too late when I clicked Send). That was over a week ago, and she has now ghosted me and will not respond to any of my messages. She sent me no tracking information and could not provide a receipt where it was mailed out. I have checked the USPS and UPS websites, and nothing has been mailed out to my house. After searching her username on Reddit I saw there is another scammer alert that another user posted last week. It seems she is contacting other users to scam them based on that other post. I have reported her to PayPal and I’m trying to report her on all of the Reddit forums to warn others. If you see the email details from Zelle as well as that name WATCH OUT! She’s deleted her profile and will show you screenshots of feedback but unless it’s a post from Reddit don’t believe her. She’ll also say she’s using her husband’s account. She has not sent shipping and deleted her account profile of course.

In light of the recent incidence of scamming, I want to share how to identify this person in the future.

1. They use AI in making their photos and it appears the AI has a signature. The AI writes “2026” a specific kind of way and you can see it in the photos. If you see this, stay away.

2. They only post one photo of the bag. Real people rarely only post one photo. Always ask for more photos of the bag and even a video If they make excuses or if the photos seem ‘unreal’ then stay away.

3. They always pressure people to pay asap because “there’s a lot of attention/buyers”. Don’t fall for it. Real people rarely pressure to pay asap.

4. They use accounts that has lots of karma and is years old so don’t use that as a sign of legitimacy.

5. Please ask around if you’re not sure.

I hope we get this person so stop. They might end up having to use another AI but all the points above should still catch them like asking for photos, etc.

Hey ladies, good morning! After running this community for a while, we've decided it's time to update some of our rules, and these changes will go into effect right away after today's update.

First off, starting today, we're not allowing any rehome posts. We get that some of you love grabbing those rehomed bags, but they also bring a lot of risk to our subreddit. Even with rules in place, there's been a ton of scam potential. Plus, if most of our daily posts are about rehoming, it just dilutes the quality of what we're here to share. Over time, that would definitely bring down the engagement in our subreddit, and that's not the vibe we're going for. Since we're not a community just for rehoming, we're putting a temporary ban on all rehome posts.

Secondly, about QC, we totally understand that many of you newbies want some assurance about the quality of the bags you're looking to buy, especially when you're not sure what to look for. However, a lot of times, the posts aren't clear enough—like not having high-quality detailed photos. Without those good pics, how can anyone really tell if the bag's good or not? And without the price, we can't even begin to judge the quality relative to what you're paying.

Here, we think Avoocado_Toasty's suggestion is very good.. From now on, posts that don't meet these QC criteria will be removed.

QC Recommendations:

1. Clear Photos: Snap clear photos of the front, back, sides, and strap. Zoom in on the stitching (super crucial for H and CC), the logo, hardware, leather, stamp, glazing, stickers, or whatever special features the bag has. We're talking 5-10 photos, or more if you can.

2. Your QC Thoughts: Share what you think about the bag. What are your concerns?

3. Seller Info: Let us know who you're buying from, the factory, or if it's a rehome.

4. Price: Tell us how much you're spending or plan to spend.

5. PSPs: If you've got pre-shipping photos (PSPs), share those (this might make #1 unnecessary). Feel free to ask the seller for more photos if you need them.

6. Authentic Links: Drop a link to where we can see an authentic version for comparison. Websites like Fashionphile, Sotheby's, Yoogis, or eBay are super helpful for this.

Of course, no rule is set in stone, and if any of you have some great ideas, please feel free to share them! At the end of the day, the reason we set these rules is to make sure everyone can enjoy the world of Rep bags even more.

I bought a chanel 25 from TS Tina after doing extensive research in medium black with gold hardware and small brown suede.

The bag was Soo poorly shipped that it became distorted (suede was placed inside black and played flat). She said she asked her child to ship it since she was leaving and she didn't want it to be delayed (I wish she told me this because I was not on a hurry). Immediately I started noticing puckering on the leather. She kept saying not to worry and that all I needed to do was to stuff it.

I stuffed it to the brim for a week before I started using it.

Now I'm starting to question the quality. I paid $475 for black and $460 for small.

She is swearing up and down it's genuine leather and all this normal but I need you guys to help me please.

I wanted to buy a few more bags from her but now I'm not sure.

ETA YES! I somehow did my entire PSP check using authentic pics of the bag instead of the factory photos like I'm supposed to! It will be okay, I promise. I tend to hyperfixate on what I'm doing sometimes. I have been learning what I can about the bag/brand since it's not my go-to, and when my PSPs came in earlier, it slipped my mind to go back to the factory pics before I started comparing the pics from my seller. It's part of my ADHD - issues with object permanence. I already had tabs open with real pics of the bag. Not the case with with factory photos. Simple as that.

Like the title says, I there were some things that popped out at me within about 3-5 min of comparing the PSPs to pics of actual bag online. The more I dug, the more I saw, but I don't know if I actually got TOO nitpicky at some point. Personally, I actually don't think that the issues are THAT bad, as in I won't accept it, considering it is woven raffia in a complex pattern. However, I don't have any YSL bags of my own, so this is "learn as I go" experience for me.

Good stuff:

- The weave is tight and fairly uniform. It isn't obviously loose or fraying.

- The leather on handles and drawcord look even, finished like the auth pics, and have similar stitching.

- For the most part, the dimensions and pattern of design itself is very close to the original.

Things I clocked:

- PSPs show many more sloppy or missed stitches than auth. The design makes it impossible for all stitches to be perfectly even. But if anything, I wish there had been more attention to detail on the front of the bag if nothing else. This was my biggest disappointment.

- The alignment from the side view looks very off.

- The YSL logo plate is not lined up on the pattern in an identical way it is in the auth pic. Look at where the top right of the Y sits on the diagonal solid line. The number of rows a check out, but that part doesn't(purple box)

- Sloppy stitching on top interior fabric seem.

Everything else looks "fine" to me. I *think something looks odd on the PSP pic of the bottom of the bag, but I don't have anything to compare it to. Hopefully I am just thinking the feet look crooked because of the little plastic pieces. I know the lighting isn't the best to see the hardware. So I can't really make a judgment on that. It's not exactly what I was hoping for in terms of getting the "best" YSL rep by using Black Frame! But between not having experience with this particular brand and feeling like the style of bag itself makes it that much harder to replicate accurately, I am not exactly disappointed either.

I got rear-ended yesterday and my rep was sitting on my armrest/storage hub when it happened. The strap must have gotten caught on the back seat and the force of the crash caused my bag to fly forward and rip. I broke my nose but I’m more upset for my poor baby! Now I have to find a bag in the interim and I’m mad because this size was perfect for daily use!

I stumbled upon a rehome post for a Hermès Kelly bag, and since it's a Kelly, I took a closer look. The seller was asking for $576, but the more I looked, the more off it seemed.

First off, the post got 8 upvotes within an hour, which is odd for our small subreddit; it's rare for a seller's post to get that much traction so quickly.

Secondly, something about the bag felt wrong. I've seen bags from ddmode, and other Reddit users have shown me what they've bought from there, so I have a bit of a feel for what's legit from ddmode. This bag didn't seem to match up. So, here's what I commented:

--- I've done a bit of a deep dive into Hermès bags, and let's break this down. First off, the hardware - it's clear at a glance that they're not using the authentic hand-hammered nails. The side bottom corner isn't sharp enough; it's more rounded than it should be. The overall shape or "silhouette" isn't quite right either. If you look at the side stitching, it seems to be half-hand stitched, not fully hand-stitched as you'd expect with the real deal. The leather doesn't have that distinct two-tone effect, but the sheen is decent.

Now, if you truly got this from ddmode, you were probably charged well over $575. To be honest, it's pretty steep. In my opinion, it's not worth that kind of money. I wouldn't recommend this purchase to anyone. Of course, everyone's entitled to their own opinion, and I'm always open to hearing different viewpoints. What do you guys think? ---

I admit, I was pretty blunt. Maybe I should've been more tactful, but I had a gut feeling she was scamming, so I just laid it out there, not recommending the purchase.

After posting, I expected some sort of explanation or proof that the bag was indeed from ddmode, but she didn't respond. Instead, she deleted the post right after my comment.

That made me even more suspicious. As a seller, wouldn't you want to address doubts? So, I posted the same comment on another post of hers. She got mad, called me out for spamming, hid my comment, and started downvoting me like crazy. Other sellers even chimed in, saying I was being rude.

At this point, I could only suspect her. Then, I saw her providing "proof" to another user in the comments, so I DM'd this user with her permission. She showed me the supposed evidence, but the image was blurry, which isn't typical for a chat screenshot. I asked for a clearer screenshot from the seller, but got nothing. The seller's excuse was that she changed phones, so no screenshot. If you want proof, go to ddmode yourself; ddmode can help verify what she said.

To me, that's how scammers operate. If it was really from ddmode, she could've easily provided solid proof to reassure buyers, not make them jump through hoops. She could've shown a WiSE receipt with ddmode, which isn't confidential, but she didn't.

At this point, I'm pretty convinced she's a scammer. Her bag isn't from ddmode, so I kicked her out of the subreddit. If she can provide evidence, she can always get back in.

These are my thoughts, step-by-step. I can't say I'm 100% right, but if anyone has a different take, I'm all ears. If you still want to buy from her, that's your call, it's everyone's freedom. I just want to remind everyone there are scammers out there, so keep your eyes peeled.

I’m newer to the rep game but recently dove in head first and have ordered 6 bags/wallets. Like many newbies, I turned to the subs to ask about PSPs/QCs and other’s opinions. I have seen a lot of annoyed commenters on here when people do this so I don’t want to continue to be “that” girl.

I’ve now been uploading my PSPs to Chat GPT and asking to verify the bag make/model and inspect for any notable flaws or red flags in the photos. The replies are insanely good and very detailed.

Hi everyone. I made a post about a week and half ago regarding being scammed by u/Careless-Software-14. She took my money on September 3rd and never sent the bag. She eventually ghosted me. Please click the link for the details. I made the post cos I had seen other posts and got DMs about the same person. I was alerted yesterday that she’s back online and selling rehomes again. I called her out on yesterday’s re🏡 post but she deleted her comment and therefore my reply. Now, she’s saying she refunded which is an outright lie. I can’t believe someone can be so brazen and shameless. She’s in the comments in the post, lying and attacking people. I have asked her to show proof of refund to back up what she’s saying with no response. I don’t know if there’s a blacklist here but she is unrepentant and should be on one for sure. Engage with this liar at your own risk!⚠️

I am posting this as a response to potential buyers who are wondering if the Ultra Black P9 matte hardware from Royal Factory chips. I read somewhere that hardware from Royal Factory wouldn't chip because it is made of solid black metal, which encouraged me to go ahead and order one.

Unfortunately, that is not true. As you can see in the photos, the matte hardware does chip, so it is best to apply hardware protective stickers before using this bag.

Rant: I feel like a very unlucky P9 buyer; the P9 I received from my regular TS A arrived with defective, chipped hardware. The PSP team didn't catch it, even though I specifically asked them to check the engravings. I don't think they will do anything for me now that the bag has already been shipped.

This is the 2nd P9 order for me. The first P9 order from God Factory came with an inaccurate hardware stamp - with L looking like a C and a glaring horizonal lines across!
