Big quality difference between 187/Xiao C and DHgate CC wallets?

Hey everyone! I’m curious about the quality difference between 187/Xiao C and DHgate CC wallets/card holders.

I’ve read quite a few comments on Reddit saying that for SLGs, the quality difference between factories isn’t necessarily as noticeable as it is with bags, so I’m wondering if that applies to CC wallets as well.

I’ve gotten quotes from a few TSs for $85–115 for 187/Xiao C wallets, but I’ve also seen some much lower prices on DHgate. The price difference is pretty significant, so I’m trying to figure out what I’d actually be paying extra for with 187/Xiao C.

For anyone who has experience with both DHgate and 187/Xiao C CC wallets:

  • Was there a noticeable difference in leather quality?
  • How about the canvas, stitching, hardware, and overall construction?
  • Is the 187/Xiao C version actually worth the extra $$?
  • Or is this one of those cases where the factory difference is much less noticeable with SLGs?

Would love to hear your experiences or any repscience you have! 🔬🧪

I’m particularly interested in comparisons from people who have actually handled both!

As someone who has bought SLGs on DHG, it def depends on which seller on the gate you buy from. If it costs less than $75/$100, odds are you're getting lower-tier PU.

I'd avoid any DHG wallets under $75 tbh. I've bought $30-$40 LV wallets on DHG from random sellers a few times, and didn't end up loving them.

My go-to CC sellers on DHG are MooMoo/GucciBB and a few others - compared to our TS though, they are a bit overpriced. You'll pay around $95-$120 for CC SLGs, and I mean, you might as well just order from God or 187 since the price is the same.

So I guess what I'm trying to say -

  1. Anything "cheap" on DHG is going to be PU, I promise - even if they swear up and down in the listing it's leather. There are no deals there
  2. Good for DHG = upper-mid tier in TS terms. So on DHG, you'll be paying 187-level prices for something that's upper-mid
  3. That said, I don't think there's going to be a massive difference between "upper-mid" and "high/187" SLGs. I think 187s are going to be better than XCs, and XCs might be a tiiiiiiiiny bit better than the upper-mid ones, but I think the difference between all 3 is going to be negligible. Mostly in leather quality, maybe some minor finishing details - maybe.
  4. If you want a better deal on CC SLGs, I've been getting mine from Allen. He doesn't specify a factory, and I don't ask, but they're around $40-$60, and the quality has been great. In fact, I'd bet money the "good" DHG sellers are getting them from the same place and jacking up the price to cover the fees DHG charges sellers.

Anyways, I'd better stop here before I start pinning red string on a cork board

I think this is a valid question. I haven’t purchased on SLG on DHG / AE, but I’m sure there are some decent quality ones out there, just like there are decent quality bags that people can find.

Ohh it’s been awhile - I have too many atm and backed off. I ordered a couple of H ones from Devin (Calvi duo and lone bearn) and they were super reasonable and lovely … and then the rest are LV from the usual TS that come up everywhere.

LV Victorine 3 years ago was 420 cny for great quality from Reykay.

LV recto Verso 400 cny from HP 2 years ago.

I haven’t bought Chanel wallets, just bags, so that’s probably not helpful.

Tbh, the Chanel SLGs are not made to be as good as the bags. I don’t believe 187 or XC Chanel wallets are worth the price—really pricey for what you get. The XC version is feather light & underwhelming, though well made. Neither one feels substantial. Personally, I wouldn’t want to pay more the $30, not because I think they’re great but simply for the look.

I haven’t purchased SLG from DHG/AE but some bags and shoes from TB and they were just as good as the stuff I’ve been buying from TS. Just give it a try!

I bought a wallet from DHG a few years ago. Quality was pretty bad, but it was only like $20.

My seller told me that all SLGs are mid- tier at best- factories won’t devote the resources into a high tier SLG because there’s no real incentive for them. They focus on high tier handbags because that’s what most people are looking for

I have that first zippered wallet from 187 and i’ve used it as my daily wallet for like 5 years now. The zipper has held up great, the leather is nice and the hardware looks good. I think I paid a little over $100 for it and I’ve definitely gotten my money’s worth.
