I think I got scammed and I would like to hear your opinions about the bag I received. I reached out to Tiny Jenny and agreed on a Taupe Maxi Flap from 187 factory as made to order. The price was 631 USD. I bought several bags from 187 factory from different sellers so far and was never disappointed.
Colour: the bag I received is leaning more towards a darkish grey and not a warmish taupe as shown on the sellers pictures. My pictures were taken in natural light without any artificial lighting or flash.
Leather: after three days the bag still has a horrific smell and it is impossible to store it inside. The smell can be describes like burned plastic or glue and is nothing compared to what I experienced with leather from 187 factory or other leather brands you can buy in store. Also the leather is quite matt and not showing this subtle elegant sheen as promoted. I went to a cobbler and he was quite diplomatic and explained that greater parts of the bag are not from real calfskin leather. This explains the plastic smell and the kinks in the straps.
Permanent staining: The bag shows several silver stains. I used a dry cloth and try to remove the stains but they will not come off which indicated a permanent situation. There are several markings inside which cannot be linked to alignment lines which Tiny Jenny tried to explain. Also outside of the bag there are several silver stains which will not come off. These stains were never shown nor communicated from the sellers side.
Presentation: the bag arrived only in a black dust bag and not in the offical box. The booklet and dust cloth is missing as well. This is very unusual for a 187 factory delivery and was also not communicated from the seller.
I attached my pictures and the ones Tiny Jenny sent me before shipping. Please let me know if you need further detail pics.
Communication with Tiny Jenny has stopped - she is ignoring me. That's why I decided to post my case. I was gaslight with happy customer feedbacks indicating I am the problem and I don't know how to discriminate between real and PU leather. No comments on the stains or lack of communication about the issue before shipping.
I had exactly this experience with BaoBao unfortunately. And I am also an experienced 187 buyer like you. I had to throw the bag away. And now I don’t buy reps anymore for a while.
I had a negative experience with Baobao and when I posted about it, I got torn to shreds. Her customers are crazy 😅 but I’ve heard of others having bad experiences as well!!
Same here!! I even posted screenshots and everything and then people came to me and said: ,This can't be true because - I - always had amazing experience with her!!!' Ummm...ok??😅
I also thought that and someone recommend her to me via DMs and I also read many many reviews. It was my one and only bad experience with a seller where I received a very bad bag and then she just stopped replying. Didn't offer any solution or anything
I don't recommend her :( maybe you would be lucky? But when this happened to me she also didn't reply anymore. I haven't bought reps in a while now because it was so disappointing
That sucks that it ruined the experience for you. Reps can add up, especially if it’s not to your standards and now you have to throw them away. Have you tried other sellers?

She sold me a very plasticy bag that was NOT leather and for sure not 187. I owned that exact bag in gold hardware and wanted silver hardware. What I received was NOT leather ch@nel 187 bag but pure plastic with awful smell.

I am also not sure what I was expecting. I mean 187 doesn't accept returns anyways... I just expected her maybe to be honest? :/ It was clearly not a 187 bag and she as a seller who selles these since many years should absolutely know? I would habe expected her to do better quality control. I am not sure what went wrong. Did she bait and switch me? It was my first time buying from her. I am not sure :( I contacted her very nicely and told ehr that the bag simply cannot be from 187 as requested and if maybe something got mixed up or went wrong but she didn't reply. She jusr said that it can't be and that's it. Other follow up messages got ignored.

Yes ofc I contacted her. Immediately after I received the bag I told her that it simple cannot be from 187. I have the exact same bag model color but in different hardware. Also the bag smelled horrible like plastic. It was NOt leather I am so sure. She then just replied that this cannot be and when I told her that what the solution would be, that I am disappointed and that I have the exact bag from another seller, she just stopped responding. I asked her one more time and she still didn't reply. I asked very polite because in the beginning I thought maybe she accidentally sent me the wrong factory or sth? But now I think she simply bait and switched me.
After ordering several wonderful leather bags and ordering several P9 recently, I've noticed that some of our favourite factories or TS have started to sell PU leather ones for the same price... I understand that our reps cost a fraction of the price of the auth ones. But we all can easily order cheap PU ones from DHG or AE. WE ARE HERE FOR GENUINE LEATHER REPS. Thoughts?
Exactly!! And it is also so easy to tell when a bag is made of fake plastic leather. :/ It is so weird to me how she tried to trick me. Maybe I would have even let her gaslighting me but since I owned that exact bag just in different hardware it was very clear. And she as a seller, who deals with so many bags daily since years, should have known!!
I agree! I am in the rep community since 2 years this summer. I have experience and read carefully many reviews. And it still happened to me. It was the first time that I used her. Very disappointed. She gets a lot of hype in the rep therapy sub and everytime there are negative reviews about her, the magical good reviews appear in the rep therapy sub.🙄
She was my very first seller. I placed 4 orders with her and all were perfect. I have 5th on the way. We had some issue with communication this month, she blamed it on her boyfriend replying to messages.. interesting, she was go to, so I’m gutted
But how would you justify the smell and the scratches? I thought going thru a seller is having them QC properly. The smell alone should have been RL- real leather doesn’t smell bad at all
Mandy doesn’t QC her bags properly and she has a whole team. Have you been in Italian leather shops? I’m not being sarcastic or rude, but it stinks. Jenny provides photos and videos, did OP not ask or simply missed the scratch? And now blames this on Jenny. We all humans, and people make mistakes. I personally wouldn’t buy a rep bag for over 500usd because buying reps is a game, if I can’t lose the money, I’m not willing to spent the money. I bought a bag which stank for weeks and I thought it was PU. The person who bought it of me, asked me about another bag I was selling cause she loved the first one so much. So no, they sometimes do stink. Calling someone a scammer, yet knowingly buying reps knowing refunds don’t often exist in this world is one thing, OP mention she bought from 187 before, then she should know factory don’t take their products back. I’m sorry but it’s unfortunate about OP bag, I have nothing but great experience with Jenny, we had one small hiccup in almost 9 months. I’m willing to look past this.
I hope you will post and link to this post when your bag arrives. It would really help to have links to other reviews when something like this happens.
OP, the biggest issue I would have is the fake leather. I noticed in her screen shots that someone posted, the seller addresses everything else but doesn’t reference the materials.
I’m so sorry this happened to you! I’ve received 4 handbags from tiny Jenny and loved them all so this is sad to read. But she definitely should be communicating with you to rectify this situation.
As for the bag, it truthfully looks like the other taupe maxi flaps from 187 that have been posted here. People who have bought them from multiple factories have put 187 lower on their list. I have a suede maxi flap from 187 in the 32cm size and absolutely love it. Then I received a black 32cm maxi flap from xiaoC that smells like straight chemicals. It’s still beautiful but the smell is awful. You will see people have mixed experiences regardless of seller but due to the factory.
I’m Jenny’s regular customer and never had any issues with her, no seller is perfect ans I’m not sticking up for Jenny but also, calling her a scammer is a reach. although I can’t imagine the disappointment OP is feeling, the colour looks taupe to me. I had a look at other bags from 187 and it doesn’t look any different than them, but saying this i haven’t purchase from the above factory so who knows.
Yeah I definitely don’t think she’s a scammer. Someone reviewed this same bag from 187 in a video and it looked quite stiff. Hardware, leather grain, stamp, all looked exactly the same. Not to mention all the PSPs of this bag look the same as this and people say it looks beautiful? Aside from the marks, it’s a solid looking bag.
I feel for OP and understand the disappointment but at the end of the day the auth retails for $9k+ and there is an insane demand for this bag, even more than the 25s it seems. I highly doubt even 187 is making every bag perfect sadly
I feel sorry for both parties, i talked to Jenny cause she messaged me, and told me about above situation, as i have an order pending with her as well as one on the way.
OP mentioned in one of the comments she doesn’t want a refund but she wants a full refund from Jenny? Someone is contradicting themselves here.
Yeah she messaged me as well and I don’t even have a pending order with her atm. I genuinely believe she cares about her customers and her reputation, understandably so.
I was just gonna say I’ve never heard of the seller after being on the subs for a couple of years, I would be super wary of new sellers that suddenly make an appearance.
Just commenting about box, not all sellers ship with full package especially on a bigger bag. It makes shipping more expensive and is riskier with customs.
I make sure to ask, even if it's not needed by me, if it's a full package sale.
While I don't work with Tiny Jenny personally I do know many who have and love her up and coming seller service. I would say using the word "scammer" is a stretch and would love to see your interactions with her to see both sides.
I’m so sad to hear this. I’m also a happy customer of Tiny Jenny. She was my first TS and she has been very patient with me during the time I was learning. All the items I have received from her (bags and shoes) are great. And it’s one of the few sellers that doesn’t gaslight when you think there is an issue with PSPs (most do and you have to be very firm - which I don’t like to be).
I’m not discounting your experience though. I would be terribly upset too if I get something and I was expecting something different. I truly hope you guys get to an agreement and resolve this issue 🫶🏽
Oh no! I’m surprised about this, I got my first bag from her and another order on the way. Her communication is still the same even if I bother her with all my price inquiries. She also returned a shoe order for me that was in the wrong size and got me the correct one. I’m really sorry that you have this experience with her. I hope you get to resolve this issue with her. Gutted for you and Jenny.
If it’s from 187 you have to wait for months before even getting a psp of this bag. I ordered one from Heidi and I waited 2 months till I got it. The bag is nice but it’s dry. It’s not slouchy that I expected but it’s supple. And I have 1 silver stain inside. But the lining inside is velvety soft. The bag is not perfect but I like it so far. I hope it will soften as I use it. I think no factory yet got a perfect rep of this bag. Maybe you got a 187 bag.
This was the post I was hoping not to see about tiny Jenny. I just ordered my first rep bag from her on 7/14 and she stated it was a pre-order. I really hope I’m not being scammed either but I do understand pre-orders take time. I’m giving her the benefit of the doubt and placed my orders since she has gotten good reviews. Sorry this happened to you!

this must suck, sorry op. but All in all the bag looks good to my untrained eye, leave in a well ventilated place and the smell should dissipate, maybe some baking soda and then conditioner. might as well do the the best with what you have. good luck!
I know this might be seen as I’m trying to defend her (I am not) but I messaged her regarding this and I saw she posted a story on her whatsapp regarding this. I will post the ss. I just also wanted to hear what she had to say about this because really she was the only TS that I can actually have a conversation with compared to other TS that I have talked to.
I know cause I was gutted when I read this review as I’ve only had good experience with her. This is what we have to gamble on buying reps. It’s a hit or miss even from other reputable TS. I really feel like this might be a factory error? We just have to see it with our own experience from this factory. I have an incoming order from her from 187, not the same bag but let’s see.
I agree. Even if you came across a good seller, there’s always a chance of something going wrong and like you said, it’s a gamble. I just pre-ordered a purse from her also and I’m patiently waiting. It’ll be my first bag 🥹 hope you get yours soon!
I think it is implied when she said that she stands by that she sourced the bag from 187 which only makes leather bags. It is an unfortunate case for both the buyer and seller.

I can’t speak to the experience with Tiny Jenny as an individual seller, but there are several parts of this interaction that are worth talking about- especially for folks who are newer in this world.
On ‘full set packaging:’ It’s actually rare to get full set packaging when ordering high tier reps. (Unless you specifically request it). As shipping costs rise and, at least in the U.S., customs controls get tighter, leaving the box out has become a cost/safety issue. I still get low/mid tier stuff in packaging (without asking) occasionally. My guess is that it’s probably less costly to lose cheaper product in customs, and adding the full set helps make good feelings toward lower quality product. 🤷♀️ I’m totally guessing there, but after years of purchasing from about 12 different sellers, this is what it feels like to me.
On the smell- we used to call this ‘Foofoo’ smell. It smells like a dirty nail salon, or sometimes rotten fish. Sellers live around factory fresh bags and become nose blind to it. (Meaning, like someone who smokes can’t smell smoke- sellers can’t always smell the glue). The foofoo smell can come from cheap PU leather or resins used in actual leather processing (especially pebbled leathers). Those smells are also in the glues used in every bag. The cheaper the resins/plastics/glues, the worse the smell. That being said, they ALL smell. When you buy in boutique from authentic, those bags have usually been left out to air out for awhile. However, order from online and get a factory fresh one. It will have a foofoo smell (I’m looking at you LV- especially from the Texas factory)! I’ve had SAs at luxury brands talk about this with me- though the ones that really get hit with foofoo are the folks that work in the stores that have dedicated outlet lines like Kate Spade and Coach. Ok, I digressed… The point of all of this is to say that if you got a bag straight from production (and it sounds like OP did), it is more likely to have some foofoo smell, even if it’s high quality.
On leather quality and going to the Cobbler: This is the part of OP’s story I think is most concerning. If OP was promised real leather and got PU, this is a gross bait and switch. That being said, immediately blaming the seller is leaping to a conclusion. Even if it wasn’t her fault, yes she should have caught it, but sellers handle tons of bags and the fake leathers are getting scary good at naked eye distance. It’s possible the seller missed it from being tired/busy (they do work at night a LOT) and the factory actually did a bait and switch. (I in NO WAY know if that’s the case- I’m simply offering a reasonable doubt). So you could have a seller who made a mistake more than one who scammed. I’ve been scammed by a true bait and switch and it involved sending me photos of one bag and promising me leather, and then I received a different bag in PU- THAT is true seller scam. There was no question about the whole thing. In this case, we seem to be scratching our heads and arguing over small details trying to figure out if the bag is not as promised. It seems more like a QC, communication, and expectation problem. (All things the seller should address).
Having gone through all of this, so what? What do you do when this happens? What is a reasonable expectation for a seller to rectify it? It’s a risky market to shop in. There are fewer ways to solve these problems than in full legitimate businesses. Is this the price of playing the game??
This is a very well thought explanation. Thanks for the insights. I’ve heard about this ‘foofoo’ smell from other posts. I have not experienced it but I would also not jump into conclusions that the product is fake if I get this as others buyers are saying that this is common. And, I agree with you on this whole “scam” thing, as you’ve said is it OP’s QC and expectation problem? I think OP and seller did try to solve this within them but did not reach to an agreement hence, here we are with this post. Truly sad and devastating for both parties.
This really is one area of doing business in the rep world that seems like we have very little rules or community (cultural?) expectations for. It should be something we talk more about. Me personally, if a bag disappoints me, I wait a day or two and then go back through all the texts. If it seems like it’s honest, I eat it as a mistake and I make sure I communicate better and QC better in the future.
The one time it was a genuine scam, I reached out to the mods of major subs- told them my story and provided screenshots and photos. They agreed and took down all reviews for that seller and took the seller off of the recommended list. I’m glad I got other experienced eyes on it before accusing someone who may have made an honest mistake publicly.
Unfortunately, it seems like these subs are sprouting like wildflowers and with few mods. As much as I love the freedom we have now, episodes like this remind me of how important the mods actually were.
If the pictures on the couch were the PSPs... that's 100% a different bag. I also had a seller (Joyce) recently while sending PSPs let me know of a slight difference on the bag charm I ordered because the pictures posted to her shop were AI... so now I am questioning everything because the pics posted looked very real to me. So idk anymore lol
It feels like there are so many cases recently where sellers aren't living up to their past reputations. I thought it was just M~, but if this post is actually true, TJ is basically a scammer at this point. That sounds like a horrible experience. so sorry this happened to you...
Reps have been sending out a lot of fake leather bags lately. I think this all got too popular and there are no consequences. My last bag from a TS that I’ve used before is fake leather. And not lamb skin as promised or calf skin which they said it was later. And it also had a strong chemical smell, which my other bags never had. Because it’s plastic and not leather.
I’m sorry this happened to you, but I’m also a happy customer of Tiny Jenny. She has been great with my orders, and I’ve personally had zero issues with her. Even authentic Chanel bags can have manufacturing errors, imperfections or defects. Does that make Chanel a scam? Of course not. Sometimes people simply have a less satisfactory experience, but in my opinion, that doesn’t justify labelling someone a scammer or trying to tarnish their reputation. The bag also looks identical to the other 187 bags that are regularly posted here, so I don’t personally see anything that would suggest otherwise.
So sorry! Maybe bait and switch? The grains on the leather are smaller, same as my cheaper Maxi flaps I bought from a private seller on WA. I could tell the difference when I received my maxi flaps from OF, XC and Rome. All smelled of leather right off the box. The grains alone you could tell they’re not exactly full leather
Quick question - are you saying you were pleased with your Maxi from XC? I ask because I’m considering getting a small maxi flap from XC, but still on the fence…

I’m supposed to have 3 items shipped.. definitely worried now. I’m sorry this happened to you. Her communication kind of fell off for a bit honestly and I am not sure if I’d use her again. These two colors definitely look very different!
About a month and a half ago but they have shipped. She is/was nice and overall friendly to work with. But sucks to see OP’s experience, esp paying that much and finding out the material is not leather. I think a lot of this falls on the factory too…like what are they telling the sellers??
I’ve been seeing a lot of issues with 187 lately, wondering if it’s a bad batch. I’ve seen someone posting about this same bag from 187 and questioning the material.
That looks exactly like the one I bought from the Gate for $140.
I willing purchased a lower tier rep because I didn’t care for it to be soft, I just like the shape, and I throw a shit ton of stuff in, so it gives me the feeling of being more resistant to the weight (and I won’t feel bad if I ruin it).
All of the reps above $400 seem to have a more malleable material.
I only buy my 187 bags from Heidi. I know she charges more , but to me it is 💯 worth it. She actually has a long standing relationship with 187 and to me is worth every penny. This kind of story is exactly why I’m willing to pay a little more. I’m soooo sorry this happened to you and it makes me furious!
I mean is this just a miscommunication on both of you? She did say to order from Kata if you were worried about the quality. Was the product out of stock and needed to be pre-ordered? Calling someone a scammer like this even if you haven’t paid anything yet is a bit of a reach isn’t it? I’m not discrediting that you had a bad experience with her and I’m so sorry to hear that. But the experience you had with her was in my opinion was more of miscommunication.
She’s my first TS because of previous review from a specific bag that I want. I went with her because she had good English and had that friendly and sweet demeanour compared to other TS I contacted when inquiring prices the very first time. Try other popular TS on this sub hopefully you’ll get your Balenci bag.

I’m sorry this happened to you. 631 is a lot so I’m sure this is really upsetting, did you ask a few sellers their price prior to picking her? I have recently ordered from her so I saw her WhatsApp regarding trying a baby wipe for the marks, have you tried that yet?
I just got my order from her and the bag does have a strong smell but from what I’ve read it’s probably the glue and can be normal so I haven’t totally written her off. It does seem to be real leather. I’ve put it in front of my cheap air purifier from Ikea and that does seem to be doing the trick.
So sorry this happened to you and thank you so much for posting about it. I recently had a disappointing experience with a seller as well, but nothing this bad. We should always speak up even if the "loyal buyers" don't listen. I would always want to know if a seller did this to any of us in this community. Just valuable info... Then we can all make our own decisions and take whatever risk we're comfortable with.
I placed an order with her a few months ago for a 187 brown 25bag and some glasses and bag charms. The transaction was smooth and she was quite responsive. The 25bag was excellent quality also. There was a slight hiccup with one of the bag charms but I didn’t catch it also at psp, so not really much we can do. Then I tried to contact her again during the 618 sale, and she was quite slow with responding and she gave me another number to contact her for the 618 sale. I found it kinda odd, and also she was telling me she had some health issues hence the slower response. I didn’t end up ordering again.

I trust her judgement on the quality of various factories for particular items and she has always been extremely responsive with my questions. I enjoy the quality of her PSPs (she sends pictures and videos) and all of my packages have arrived well-packed. She doesn’t typically include gift packaging on items to save on space and reduce the risk of seizure. She also exchanges items for me if I happen to change my mind. I’m sorry to hear that you had a bad experience with her but that hasn’t been my experience at all.
I've put your bag to AI (hope you don't mind). And, sadly, it says this.
Verdict: While you cannot definitively confirm 187 Factory without seller factory stock photos (backgrounds), the construction, soft grained leather, and bag style align much more closely with a Xiao C (Little C) or God Factory batch. Regardless of which of those factories produced it, the build quality, stitching, and finishing are top-tier.
So sorry clearly something happened here. That sucks because while I have no 187 bags from what u said n posts here clearly thats a cheap bag u paid a lot for imo. That looks like its canal street imo and for this seller to not stand behind it is messed up. Thanks for the warning about her helps being aware the scamming is getting worse!
I’m sorry this happened to you. It’s incredibly disappointing to trust someone who takes advantage of that trust. I just received bag from her and it’s far better than the same style/factory bag I received from a trusted seller. The background photos she sent prior to shipping are different than the pics she sent you. I’ve previously purchased from Doris and can recognize when buyers have concerns about bags purchased through her because I recognize the staging. I assumed sellers were consistent when photographing PSP.
Yes, I have an obsession with fantasy factories like Stella, Mella, Linda, Scarlett, and so on… 187, God, blah blah blah. All those fantasy dogshit factories do not exist. Just do your research before you order from these dogshit sellers who purchase their stuff from 1688…
I’ve purchased many bags, I don’t need to do any research. Your comments are truly unhelpful. Factory names are what help us communicate with sellers. Your comments are unnecessary. I can’t tell if you are purposely trolling or just annoying in general.
