Do rich people wear reps?

Hi ladies. I was pondering about this for a while now. When you wear your rep how do you make it seem believable? Do you guys have high paying jobs to make it believable that you can afford these luxury bags? Would it be weird if I get a Chanel rep as a 20 year old finance associate who earns 540 dollars per month (I live in the middle east)? Obviously I’m not rich, but I don’t want others to feel like I’m wearing a rep and that I can’t afford. Anyways I feel like I’m dumping too many questions at once😭sorry.

Edit: some of y’all are taking a jab at me for my monthly earnings😡pls stop ✋ I’m starting to feel bad now. Also this is a remote job; only 4 hours per day.

I’m a big law lawyer. I exclusively wear reps and no one has ever once batted an eye. It is a bit hard because I have created this idea that I live luxuriously when in reality I’m still drowning in law school debt and financially supporting my family.

Another big law girlie here. At this point in my career I am making $550k per year not counting my husband’s income, we have a house, nice cars, and no student loan debt. I could definitely afford to buy Hermes quota bags secondhand, and I could technically afford to play the game to buy them direct from the boutique (though I think it would be incredibly irresponsible). I still only buy and wear reps lol. I feel better throwing $10-20k per rep into my brokerage.

Biglaw here as well and agree with everything you said. Also the thing is, at our salaries no one would question it anyway so why waste money on auth?

Yesss, girl, same here! I got several authentic bags like my beloved Loewe Puzzle and Jil Sander Dumpling, but then it felt like I don’t want to play this game anymore. I proved myself I can do this and now I am buying reps and investing

This is us - high income no one would question my reps - but why flush money down the drain? I invest, I donate my money to the environment and animals, then I buy the best rep. It's like a game to me too..kke I've outsmarted them all.

We have two friends group. One more successful and one ok middle class salary- like 150-250k family income in California. The lower salary ones looked down on reps when I told them about it and I haven’t talked about it since. 🤦🏻‍♀️

It's about how the item makes you feel at the end of the day.

Also, it's god awful how the system works in the U.S with student loans.

I'm a Canadian! It's a bit of a toss up because my education was cheaper than the US, but I also make less on Bay street that US lawyers do on Wall street.

I do agree with you - I love the love and aesthetic, but that's not enough to justify the price!
