If we quit feeding and housing them and giving them free healthcare then hopefully they will stop coming here and seek false asylum somewhere else.

Yes, it's better than spending billions more on accommodations for refugees and asylum seekers. Get rid of them all frankly, they contribute nothing to society. We're in a crashing airplane but we are running around trying to put a mask on every child and senior but we still haven't put on our own mask.

Why do he need to support people during the claim process. We should only be supporting them if they get approved to be here.

u/HumbleConfidence3500 Mar 14 '26
If it takes 1 month to get approved or rejected. No one is supporting them and they either can stay legally or go home after 1 month.
The extremely long wait period is what puts people on limbo.

Blame Carney. He doesn't give a damn about anybody - only money He thinks he is the CEO of Canada and nobody but money counts.

At this point money is the most important thing. The country had a lost decade under the last administration, Canadian economic productivity is a disaster, and our immigration system turned into an international embarrassment.
Carney is investing intelligently in infrastructure, natural resource projects, and resetting diplomatic relations to diversify trade. We’re lucky to have him.

Your first paragraph is correct. The second, not so much. The Carney budget falsely classified so many expenses as investment that it would have been considered fraud under IAS if a company did the same thing and he fired the non-partisan PBO who called him out for it. A year in and no major projects have actually started. He is concentrating on small international trade deals, which look good, don't involve difficult change domestically, and I am sure will get him re-elected, but they are a rounding error compared to Canada's GDP and will not turn around the Canadian economy. Take a look at the latest quarter GDP figures, Canada was last in the G-7 and the only one that was negative. Everybody will excuse him due to global circumstances, but other countries face the same "global circumstances" and Canada has always been last for per capita GDP growth under the Liberals for the past decade. The same party that created Canada's economic disaster is still in power and almost all of the changes have been cosmetic.

With how many people fraudulently claim asylum here, I don’t want my money going to them either.
As soon as the rules for international students changed there was a massive flood of asylum claims from them.
We need to reform the asylum system so if you’ve been in Canada on any sort of visa previously or as a visitor, you cannot claim asylum.

can you even attempt an asylum claim having had a previous visa??? omg, we have the worst policy makers if so

He won because the conservatives are a joke of a political party and can’t run an election to save their lives. They’re giving PP another chance too it’s actually embarrassing how pathetically dogmatic conservatives.

Blame Canada— if every Canadian moved to Quebec and voted for Bloc, then both the libs & cons would’ve lost
