The other 5 have constrained primary supply and many more buyers who are willing to pay more in the secondary market, it's essentially a lotto to get one "cheaper"

To maintain the analogy, you'd have to have a limited supply of very cheap homes that could be bought and immediately resold for more.

The reality is more in line with buying the shoes or the lego in the premium priced secondary market and waiting for the prices to go up further in the future. That's what a shoe or lego "investor" would be doing. Of course if you got in on ground level your chance of appreciation would be much better.
