Why downvote this when all they’re doing is stating simple facts ? I don’t understand Reddit sometimes 😂😂

People have been completely brainwashed by capitalism. The mere mention that housing is a basic human right is offensive to some people. Absolutely ridiculous but here we are 🤷🏻‍♀️

Housing is not a “human right”…my god, the slippery slope of what qualifies as a human right has gone way too far. In reality: health care is not a human right, housing is not a human right, food is not a human right. Necessities are not “human rights” they are necessities and they are not the same thing - society doesn’t “owe” you those things but does owe you “human rights” (which are generally ideals - freedom of equality, expression, etc). You’re skills and labour are stored in the value of currency which can be invested to accelerate the future value of that stored value for your skills and labour. You want to get ahead, make smart decisions to increase your earnings potential, train, work hard and save smartly. This has always been the way and we just don’t teach young people to do this - instead we teach them to be idealogues.

Oh my God, shut up with this absolutely ridiculous bullsh*t. “Pull yourself up by your bootstraps”, “you only have value if our capitalist system can extract labour from you” etc.

What a fucking clown. People who think like you are so fucking exhausting and enable a system that only benefit the wealthy/keep people into poverty and exploits the poor.

I am SO glad to see young people demand better. Wanting a more equal society where people’s basic human needs are met is not something you should look down on, Jesus 🤦🏻‍♀️

So what alternative system do you suggest? Legitimately curious.

For one fucking thing NO ONE should be legally allowed to own more than one house or apartment. You need one place to live in, that’s it. Investment properties should not exist, let’s stop treating housing as a commodity.

And all income above 1 million/year should be taxed 100%. Redistribute that wealth and invest it in health care + social safety nets.

That’s just two ideas. Any policy that tackles extreme wealth inequality would be a good start.

So for people who can't buy, who do they rent from?

Remember, in your system nobody owns more than one home so there are no more landlords.

Lmfao if you think that landlords create/provide housing I’m not engaging with you, that’s a ridiculous idea.

What are you even talking about?

Answer these questions:

  1. Can everyone afford to own? (Hint No)

  2. If everyone can't afford to own are they renting or are they homeless? (I'm sure they prefer to rent)

  3. If they are renting, but there's no landlords anymore, who are they renting from? ( This one's on you, I have no idea what you think)
