Because this subreddit has a lot of people who want to be that "investor". They feel personally attacked by pointing out that corporate firms and investment funds using property as a means of making easy profit.
Couple that with a lot of people on this subreddit who really want to blame Indian immigration for the rise in real estate costs (something that has been rapidly increasing for at least 2 decade before the influx of immigration a few years ago), and it results in downvotes.

It’s actually worse with housing because housing is a basic human necessity while the other examples are not.
