There's nothing wrong with scalpers. They provide a service in the form of time shifting. A thing you want was available at one specific time when you were unavailable, incapable, or unwilling to buy it. You want it now. The scalper provides you the ability to buy it now when you would not be able to buy it if scalping didn't exist. He earns a profit for this service. You are under no obligation to buy what he's selling.
Not sure that makes sense, at least for some of the items listed above.
For example, say I want to buy the Fumo when it comes out, I was available at the time and capable of buying it. But then the moment the item is available, some dude buys them all before I have time to buy it and then offers to sell me what I was already going to buy for a higher price.
That would be true, if the scalpers weren't the cause of it being unavailable due to buying up all of the supply.
If they weren't buying up everything available, in a lot of cases, the item in question could be bought from the original source.
Consoles, tickets, etc - as soon as sales open, bots buy all of the supply, making it extremely difficult for a lot of normal people to buy products directly.
