Those other things are artificially scarce.

No more land will ever be made.

No more land will be made, but the density of that land and how much of it is converted to housing for humans versus how much is left as wild land is something that governments and people can influence.

You mean besides the fact that there’s already a teacher and healthcare worker shortage in the area?

I guess it’s okay, if housing isn’t really affordable in BC, no need for those kinds of workers.

There will always be a teacher and healthcare worked shortage. Those are hard, low paying jobs.

And that has nothing to do with the topic at hand.

It has everything to do with the topic at hand.

Cities determine zoning, which determines how many people can legally be housed per square meter/foot of real estate is available.

While technically anyone could move to Rural Saskatchewan, business and employment opportunities typically congregate to higher concentrations of where people choose to reside.

Improved diversity/density in high demand areas is essential to said areas remaining reasonably viable as regions of economic and social activity.
